I cant wait to go back this will be my only place to go to for vacation,
at last thank you Malissa assistant Manager for taking care of us and hope to see you again soon.
Last winter, spent a week at that resort after a deceptive cruise in the Caribbeans. Beautiful resort! From the layout to the entertainment, from the pools to the beach, from the food to the room, it was such a beautiful, relaxing week. Can't wait for the next winter season, it would be hard to say no.....
While thinking of my next year's vacation, I remembered to send this review in. Was at Iberostar Hacienda in February for 8 "perfect days" with 2 friends. Been to several hotels on the DR island the past 5 years & liked them all although there was always 1 or 2 small problems at each. However, the Iberostar Hacienda was the BEST. Grounds are breathtaking, staff friendly & not annoying, food delicious, huge pool & clean beach. I cannot even think of one negative comment. Needless to say, I'm planning another trip next year!!!!
The resort is beautiful, the food was great, the beach was wonderful! There are a variety of specialty restaurants for dinner that are fun to go! The room is on the smaller end and sometimes needs repair. I would come back though! It was a great place to relax!
We stayed here July 2018. Our first room we were in we had 2 issues. One was no hot water (which apparently it affected our whole building and was later fixed I think), and the toilet in our room would not flush. They sent a guy and he said it would have to be replaced the next day. He spoke no English, which is the case for so many employees there. If you don't know some Spanish, good luck. We were helped by a very sweet lady at the front, Gladys and she got us moved to a new room. She was awesome and helped so much!
The resort itself is MASSIVE. It literally takes about 5-7 minutes from the front to walk all the way back to the beach. It's beautiful throughout though, many pools and beautiful surroundings, but it is a long walk if you have a room at the front.
There is a doc on site. Our kid had an ear infection and we went to inquire about the doc. The hotel doesn't control the pricing on that, but wow, it was anywhere from $160 to $220 for the lady (who I'm not even sure she's a doc) to look in ear. She later told me she isn't allowed to even prescribe anything for our child since she isn't a pediatrician, so I'm not sure what the point would be to pay for a visit.
The lady at the front desk helped us though, called a local pharmacy, and got medicine in 30 minutes-appreciate her much!
Overall, it was a great time, even though the hotel/resort was packed! Interestingly, only about 5% of guests were American, most from South America (at least at this time of the year). The food really was amazing every time and we would recommend the Iberostar!
