I was expecting a better
Reviewed 4 days ago

We book a comfort room for 8 days in this resort. The room was quite spicious and quite clean but there was a smell of mold, even the toilet wasn’t so great. There were a lot of rusty deposit in the toilet.
The crib that we ask for our baby was impossible to use. Too small and the mattress was of plastic.
Service it’s really slow and inefficient. We sent them a couple of messages before we got there and they never reply. And even when we went to reception to ask for privilege upgrade or birthday breakfast and dinner they deleyed our request, ask us to come back the day after and forget to bring our request (examples: we ask to bring bananas to room breakfast they forgot, bring a birthday cake to dinner, they forgot, ask for privilege upgrade they wanted to overcharge us and they were delaying our request, we got the upgrade the third day we arrive there)
The buffet restaurant it’s ok. The few restaurant a la carte aren’t that great. Maybe they are not even worth the upgrade.
Service at the restaurants is really slow.
The sand on the upper/farter side of the beach it’s not the original sand I think the fill it whit same sort of fake sand. The front beach sand it’s soft and like flour. The Caribbean Sea it’s amaxing.
Another really annoying thing are the Meraviglioso team. They are really annoying, trying really hard/sometimes black mailing you to get the membership.
Overall the atmosphere it’s nice.
If you are looking a nice tour to the Saona Island I’ll suggest FRANCONERO ESCURSIONI. Good price lots of fun and good food (includes lobsters).

Had a pleasant stay

it is a good choice for the price. Bedrooms are clean and bathrooms as well. The variety of food is satisfying. Staff was very friendly. Several bars well located, so you don't need to walk a long distance to get a drink .

Good overall, but rules for AI should be made clearer

Hotel has a nice carribean vibe, good rooms, food and beach. However, All Inclusive is actually not that all inclusive afterall. Unfortunately there are some restrictions of which you only find out when accidentaly have overstepped. No clear signs which area is for normal AI or otherwise. Some people looking like hotel staff behaving weird as eventually trying to sell you something you are not interested in.
Water shoes recomended for some areas.

Very nice

Reading other reviews really made me nervous for our trip. People must complain a lot because we thought the resort was great! We walked up and down the beach past other resorts & their beach was the cleanest. Also, very nice rooms that were cleaned morning & night. My only comment is that very few staff & employees spoke English. It kept it interesting & didn’t impact our trip.

Great resort and good value for money

We were greeted on reception with a nice drink and kindly upgraded once the receptionist had learnt we were recently engaged! The room was very nice and always kept clean and the all round cleanliness of the resort was very good, the staff are always cleaning.

The beach is amazing...

The restaurants and food are good, however the service at the terrace bar is terrible and we found the staff rude on numerous occasions. The food in the main buffet was ok however at times lacked variety and quality.

The beach bar attached to the terrace restaurant is great and the staff were always friendly, especially Valencio!

The pizzeria is amazing, very fresh pizzas all day long.

The staff as a whole are nice however very little English is spoken so a bit of a challenge.

Overall I don’t think this resort deserves some of the bad reviews.. I think you are definitely better off booking a priverleged room like we did as most of the bad reviews are based on the quality of the older rooms.
