The Small Krabi
What We Love
- A lovely bijou hotel in Ao Nang, with breakfast and plenty of perks for longer staysThe kooky exterior of the colourful hotel
- Crossing the street and getting a taste of all the Thai street food and exploring the small stores
- The night-time breeze and view of the sea from the rooftop pool
Ao Nang’s just the place for a sunny, fun-filled holiday. The beach-side town has a perpetual air of summer festivity, a laid-back atmosphere and is the gateway to some of the world’s best beaches.
The perfect place to enjoy it all: The Small. The kooky exterior of the hotel stands out from the rest of the dusty street – a cheery oasis of modern sensibilities with a sparkling rooftop pool that has the view of the nearby sea, and cool, comfortable rooms to shade your sun-soaked skin. After a long day of massages, water sports, snorkelling and eating, it is just the place to come back and rejuvenate.
Situated right at the edge of a popular resort, you’ll find that it is immensely easy to travel from the hotel’s central location.
How to Get There
My girlfriend and I have inquired about the spa service. After listening to the proposal, we agreed to massage here. Because the price can be reached and not far from our accommodation The staff invited us to sit and fill in various records. But while we are filling the history in the document There was a massage therapist asking about the type of massage with the staff of the reception and if he heard that he asked "Are the guests paying?" We sit and listen and hear everything, but we can't hear anything. After that, another massage worker came. She put on a black shirt and asked the reception staff again that "Did the guest pay?" And asked about 2 times. That was the last time she sat down in a low wooden chair and shouted to the security guard again "Guests pay or still allow guests to pay first?" The staff said, "The customer is Thai !!" She therefore went up to the top.
@ Hope that I understand the customer service intent.
Area: This hotel is perfectly situated between two beaches, each a 5 minute walk either way. To the right is the Ao Nang Landmark night market and a better beach for swimming/relaxing. To the left is the Ao Nang Centre-point which has a lot more bars, shops and where you will get hassled of an evening.
The Small is a lovely small hotel, with a nice roof top pool and another pool on the lower floor from the swim out rooms. You have use of the pool opposite in La Playa which catches more sun and has a pool bar. The staff are all very friendly and always helpful. Our swim out room was very nice, more than big enough for two of us, plus a large shower.
Breakfast: Basic with a selection of fruits, cereals and hot foods which would be more suited to a lunch buffet for us (we are British). I wouldn’t say it is the worst breakfast I have had but it could do with improving.
Eating locally: make sure to try out the Ao Nang Landmark night market. We ate here most nights as the selection is so big and the food is very affordable. The restaurants down the road next to the market are also nice for lunch but abit more pricey. The Calm is a lovely restaurant linked to the Holiday Inn and very affordable despite its higg end appearance.
Trips: To the left of the hotel from the main road is a trip booth. Red tuktuks outside. The Rasta woman does very good prices on the trips we went on e.g. 800 full day 4 islands or 600 half day kayaking. Highly recommend her.
I would highly recommend this hotel for any couples or adults looking to explore Krabi or the Ao Nang area.
The service and amenities are excellent. Definitely an option of value for money. Pool access is a must for water lovers and ambient is great for couples as well. Rooms are clean and well lit, modern design.
The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are well thought out and clean with great amenities.
The ground floor pool is nice and cool for the hot days.
There is also another pool on the roof if you want the sun.
Very nice hotel. The staff are very polite and friendly. We stayed here for 2 nights whilst travelling and was not disappointed at all. The hotel is small but literally over the road is the sister hotel with fabulous pools and the swim up bar is fantastic to help cool down in the heat. If I returned to Krabi I would definitely return to this place.
