This stay was booked last minute as the hotel we originally booked had double booked and didn't have rooms for us, and we spent 4 nights at the pelican hotel. Me and my partner had a room and my parents had a separate room.

All in all I have mixed feelings about this stay.. we had a few issues there, that ended up being sorted by the manager, which is absolutely amazing. Were it not for her and most of the staff, we simply would have left, not even caring that the rooms had already been paid for. When I say most of the staff it really means most of the staff. We had an issue with two people working in the restaurant, completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I wont go into detail as I do believe this will never happen again, the manager sure did her job on that matter. The other issue was the rooms... I don't really know what to say, I suppose most of it has been said in other reviews. We did a bit of digging with locals, and what I can say is that this is a perfect case of "you need to spend money to make money". Well, the owners aren't really interested in spending money. They live in Bangkok and don't really seem to care what happens with their hotel, as long as they make money. This could be a 5 star resort, but the state it is in today, it absolutely isn't.

The first day wasn't food for us, room changes and then the issue with the some staff, but the manager really saved our stay! We were able to enjoy our stay because of her and the reat of the staff, who were so kind and friendly! It is also a bit remote on krabi, so its beautiful and not crowded.

Would I stay here again? Unless the lazy owners decide to actually fix the place up, then probably not no. But I do still need to give it a 4 rating, as for me, the service you get during your stay is always the most important.

This not the firs time for visit in Krabi. But never see the fantastic room like the Pelican Hotel. The room , balcony, living and kitchen are big. If possible I did not go to outside. The private pool clean my child very happy. But the point that I surprise, staff they are great service, smile, friendly, and helpful. The location was quiet and it has restaurant front beach, 7-11 around the area. Before I stay I read the bad review but there are not true. Or my expectation not much. However, I will back again next vacation. And many thanks for all staff. They made my family do not need to back their home. Hahaha I must back for making the money more.

Worst hotel experience ever, spend your money elsewhere

This is the first time I started writing a review only after few days my holiday had started. Just wanted to say that this hotel is a joke. Forget the promised 4 stars, let alone 5 stars. This hotel deserves only one star. Like someone else said in previous reviews, something must have happened in the ownership/management.

The apartment

We were staying in a 3 br ocean view pool suite for a price comparable to 5 star resorts in the area. When we arrived to the room, we immediately noticed it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Dust was on the table, long hair on the floor and a huge pile of dust on top shelf in the clothes rack. There was a very strong smell coming from drain which I learned in these few days seems to be continuing. The apartment itself is spacious and modern but the lack of maintenance is making it fall apart. And the most disappointing thing is that this whole apartment and all the hotel areas are untidy, almost filty dirty. The bathroom floor had stains (don’t even want to guess where they have come from), tub had yellow areas, mirrors weren’t cleaned and the pool area.. oh boy, pool has lost many of the tiles so it’s quite a hazard with kids and the tiles outside look really dirty. The floor was full of bird poop when we came, but luckily they cleaned the floor when I insisited they have to do it. The water pressure is so week that you can’t get the bathtub to be filled (unless you wait for hours).

White curtains have not been probably washed ever, they are all black from the area which is touching the floor. The showers have no power and you run out of warm water every day. The safety box was not working and I insisted the reception that it must be fixed immediately. It took them three days to fix the box.Luckily no one stole our passports or money during those three days. The only good thing in the room is its space and the beautiful seaview from the balcony.

Food and amenities

Breakfast is very bad for these standards, catastrofical almost. During the first day, they had warm options but after that all the warm options like pancakes, sausages and bacon are cold since the compartments where they are maintained probably broke down. When we asked what is the reason and pointed this out, the guy in the kitchen just told ”yes cold, not hot”..the variety is also bad, not at all 4-5 star standards.

The pool area was very dirty when we came and the water didn’t look inviting. Luckily we had our own pool so we were using only that. When we tried to go and get pool towels in the morning they said they ran out and they might be getting those towels at 11am, maybe. Guess if they were there at 11am. After a few days the water in our pool turned green as well. It seems the other pool rooms had the same problem. There is a very limited number of sun loungers for the size of the hotel.

Hotel area isn’t maintained at all, all the places fall apart and dirt is everywhere. It also lacks amenities for a 5 star hotel. Nest beachclub was not open.


Check in was quite a hassle with two people trying to make it happen. Nothing was told about the hotel and they forgot to give us wifi passwords. Really unprofessional. The ladies working at the breakfast seem really bored and hardly ever smile. I agree that this place is lacking the thai hospitality I have been used to in my 7 other Thai trips. One big problem is also the lack of English knowledge which makes it hard to get a change to things. I was also really bored and dissappointed about the fact that they weren’t able to fix the safety box issue, promises were given but nothing happened. One morning there was sudeenly a water cut. I called the reception to inform that there is no water coming out and they told me that ”yes, there is a 30 minutes water cut”. I asked why they didn’t inform the guests (it’s a bit annoying be washing your hair when that happens) and the answer was ”sorry madame”, not enough. It was a planned water cut but they didn’t inform the guests. Luckily I didn’t have shampoo in my hair..

Location is very good but unfortunately it doen’t save this hotel. Spend your money elsewhere and choose another hotel. Worst ripoff and the most disappointing hotel experience for a long time.
