How to Get There
Stayed there with the family in early October this year
A quiet place though perhaps we went there in the off season. Located bang opposite a beach the hotel is relaxing.
Breakfast is average and was not a buffet. The rooms appear as though the hotel is undergoing a bit and pieces renovation. The rooms are otherwise well maintained and reasonably clean. Our private pool was good but could definitely do with a bit of maintenance.
Since the idea of the holiday was to chill out and just relax we found the hotel fairly ok though it’s a bit far from main Krabi town.
I booked with the hotel for 3 nights by mistake and requested for a cancellation and refund merely 1 hour later and they did not want to proceed with the refund “according to policy”. I had explained and negotiated that I will not be there and will pay for the first night, and they can open the room back up for others to book. However, they kept repeating the same things over and over. Not even any amendments can be made. Ridiculous and scam hotel, afraid nobody else will book so they want to eat my money.
This stay was booked last minute as the hotel we originally booked had double booked and didn't have rooms for us, and we spent 4 nights at the pelican hotel. Me and my partner had a room and my parents had a separate room.
All in all I have mixed feelings about this stay.. we had a few issues there, that ended up being sorted by the manager, which is absolutely amazing. Were it not for her and most of the staff, we simply would have left, not even caring that the rooms had already been paid for. When I say most of the staff it really means most of the staff. We had an issue with two people working in the restaurant, completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I wont go into detail as I do believe this will never happen again, the manager sure did her job on that matter. The other issue was the rooms... I don't really know what to say, I suppose most of it has been said in other reviews. We did a bit of digging with locals, and what I can say is that this is a perfect case of "you need to spend money to make money". Well, the owners aren't really interested in spending money. They live in Bangkok and don't really seem to care what happens with their hotel, as long as they make money. This could be a 5 star resort, but the state it is in today, it absolutely isn't.
The first day wasn't food for us, room changes and then the issue with the some staff, but the manager really saved our stay! We were able to enjoy our stay because of her and the reat of the staff, who were so kind and friendly! It is also a bit remote on krabi, so its beautiful and not crowded.
Would I stay here again? Unless the lazy owners decide to actually fix the place up, then probably not no. But I do still need to give it a 4 rating, as for me, the service you get during your stay is always the most important.
