How to Get There
The resort is has a great location with enough places to chill and relax that you will never realize how many guests are there. Enough pools to try a new one every time, though the Jacuzzi's don't work properly and the maintenance has gone bad. I ended up scratching my knee twice on the Jacuzzi as the surface is very rough and you don't realize that till you actually get in the pool. The rooms are quite spacious and clean with good views.
The room service is very slow and you need to keep reminding them for what you asked. Though the service in the restaurants is very good.
The beach area is outstanding with trees where you can rest during the day and not have to worry about the sun.
For this level of resort i felt the Breakfast was quite average and toiletries were below average. We stayed in a lower star resort in Krabi where the service and quality was far better.
The resort provides kayak and Paddle boards, a definite must to do.
Overall a good resort, but not what we expected given the price and name of Amari.
Just got back from Amari Vogue where I stayed with my husband, daughter and my parents. I've been to the hotel before 6 years ago, but unfortunately the state of the rooms and service got so much worse. The maintanence suffers, so e.g. jaccuzi's and fountains are not working and the rooms and facilitirs are not crisp anymore. Next to the hotel is a huge construction site, so if you stay in the wing on the right side you see and hear it on the way to the room. All together really no luxury feeling at all. The view and the beach are still beautiful.
The hotel has very good Thai ambience despite aged probably due to lack of maintenance, it offers a very good sea view. We took a room with outdoor jacuzzi view and room was spacious and has a superb view. Things were well taken care of during arrival, however series of disappointment kicked in from next morning.
1. Breakfast - Food selection was not extensive but adequate and tasted good. Staff were not attentive and we need to request for small little things. Example: staff at noodles station was missing and was chatting at kitchen entrance. Plates were not cleared despite they were emptied. Constantly mixed up of our drinks order.
2. Arrangement of massage package
We have selected massage together with room package. Booking process was very painful as front desk who said they will help with booking did not follow up and we have to constantly go back and ask. No alternative timing was suggested when our proposed timing is unavailable. They just told us not available without suggestions
3. Staff were not courteous. We have been quite a frequent traveler in Thailand and service at Amari Vouge Krabi was one of most disappointing. Many of staff doesn't even smile or greet when they see us. This was unusual for Thai typical hospitality.
4. Pesto pasta from Poolside bar.. it was one of the worst pasta I had tasted (sorry for such blunt comment).. overcooked pasta and extremely creamy sauce with no taste.
Overall, Amari Vouge Krabi is great for the ambience, spacious room, amazing view for sunset. Hospitality would need much improvement before calling it out as 4 or 5 stars.
Just to share, Breeze Spa inside Amari Vouge was a very good experience and staff were very professional. Highly recommended to visit.
Friendly staff, nice and clean room. Good breakfast. Good restaurant, but expensive. Isolated, you need a taxi. Not worth 5 stars anymore. A lot of things needs renovation. Great view from the beach. Not many sofa'd by the pool and on the beach...
I was booking for a short year end trip. The booking process was decent. The hotel did reach out via email to let me know that they will try their best to allocate me a room further from the ongoing construction. During our stay, it has to be said that the construction noises were barely audible compared to the natual sounds from the insects in the jungle next to us.
Upon checking in, we were told that we have a very nice room. It was, it had a direct, unblocked, view to the sea and beyond. The receiving staff were very courteous and welcoming. We had the room with our own jacuzzi at the balcony. The balcony was spacious, clean, and private. The room had nice decor, a wide bath tub (suitable for us on the heavier end), and a relaxing bed.
The breakfast was where it started to go downhill (a bit). The staff at the breakfast were very cold and unattentive. Most of them never bothered to smile or greet unless we greeted them first. They asked us for coffee or tea. I ordered tea and my wife coffee. When the girl delivered it, she still delivered the coffee to me and tea to the wife. There were many instances in the restaurant that shows lack of attention (to detail and in general). The spoon was for the dahl while the thong was for the Roti, yet it was placed in reversed. Getting the drink order reversed even though we were the only table occupied at the time. The staff constantly talking very loudly amongst themselves. They often required reminding before they came to collect the plates.
Also, once, just for a few hours, the lift was out of service. That in itself of course is forgiveable. However, the staff never bothered to inform and when asked seems to brush it off. It is definitely reasonable to have malfunctioning equipment but it really does inconvenience the customer. A little compassion and understanding would have gone a long way.
We did feel that the overall hospitality in Krabi is a lot worse than Bangkok for example. Yet, we expected much more for a hotel that claims to be 5 stars. Amari Vogue has the facility, decor, and location to be 5 star. Sadly, the service (with exception of the great people at the Breeze spa, and the great parking attendant / guard) was very lackluster. Simple greeting and basic courtesy were missing most of the time.
