Overview

The Review

An Eden that celebrates the raw beauty of nature, Kauai feels like a funhouse of outdoor activities for anyone possessing even the tiniest sense of adventure. Between the gaping chasm of Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and the towering sea cliffs of the Na Pali Coast, Kauai delivers a feeling of Old Hawaii, from the laidback, friendly attitude of its people to its pristine, uncrowded beaches.

{“type”:”img-inline”,”src”:”/static/images/product/properties/370/pgal-68328-1280332952-full.jpg”,”width”:”275″,”caption”:”Kauai is known as the “Garden Isle” with good reason — it’s verdant, lush and spectacular.”}With a choice of multi-bedroom villas of varying sizes, the benefit of renting at Poipu Kai is pretty clear for families or groups of friends. You get the independence of a villa (including a full gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and SubZero refrigerator and a washer-dryer and free WiFi) while still being able to cherry-pick from the resort’s menu of extras, including access to the Poipu Kai tennis club and swimming at the centrally located pool, which has its own whirlpool and waterfall.

One of the best aspects to shacking up here is the location. Although not immediately on the beach, the villas are a five-minute walk from the talcum powder-white expanse of famed Poipu Beach, where you can just kick back and sun-soak or go for a more action-packed day of learning to ride waves with Kauai surf schools. And being on the sunny south side of the island, you’re only a towel’s toss from five more world-class stretches of sand: Brennecke Beach, Shipwreck Beach, Baby Beach, Lawai Beach and Mahaulepu Beach.

Simply put, Kauai is the Hawaiian island for nature seekers. If lush greenery and gorgeous natural beauty are on your holiday checklist (rather than, say, a beachfront Hurricane-swilling party scene), then Kauai is a wise choice. And with multi-bedroom units and private kitchens, the Villas at Poipu Kai are well suited to those looking to explore it with family or friends.

Beautiful vacation villa
Reviewed 2 months ago

I was especially excited about this reservation when my family of 5 visited Kauai earlier this month! It did not disappoint! We loved our spacious and well appointed accommodations conveniently located to beautiful beaches, restaurants, activities & towns! My kids, 17-23, had room to spread our, plenty of privacy! The balcony Lana’i was like having an added room...loved opening the folding glass doors for the morning breeze! Great pool and hot tub, too. I would not hesitate for one second if this is one of your options!!! I’d go back and stay here in a heartbeat! Pictured here is the path to the beach...an easy stroll and the view from our second floor villa...delightful!

Perfect condo for a family of 7

We are group of 4 adults and 3 teenagers just got back from Kauai for 10 days at the Villas at Poipu Kai resort.
Such a beautiful island with endlessly beaches and hiking trails!
Poipu Kai Resort offer a full variety of condos or houses depend on the number of people or prices. It has all the amenities you need (club house, swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts and a gym).
A huge Compliment and Thank you to the Management team specially Lauren, coordinator manager of the resort.
She is always available for any questions you can have and definitely tries her best to please you.
I never met her yet I feel like we are long time friends through multi phone conversations before and during my stay. Thanks so much again, Lauren!
Poipu beach which is a short stroll from the resort offers 1 Baby beach with gentle waves and plenty of fishes for snorkeling.Next to it, it’s Brennecke beach, home of boogies boarding or surfing.
Koloa town, a short drive from the resort with plenty of local food trucks and delicious shaved ice (Hawaiian specialty for ice cream, really really yummy...)

B penthouse and Ohana house
Reviewed 3 months ago

We spent the first 7 days in the penthouse. Everything you need in kitchen. So much space, great views, pantry, huge closets private space.. showers and bathrooms, so nice. Towels , no complaints. We had 5 adults and 4 kids. Air conditioning wonderful. It was so awesome that they supplied us with cushions and bedding so the kids could all stay in the one twin room. The only complaint was the kitchen table was kinda over polished(sticky). Asked for a table cloth and got it. Pool not busy the first couple of days, but the weekend more arrived. We did not use those grills but saw were cleaned everyday. After a few days it got busier. I counted the most in the pool, 20. We had to move after 7 days per our reservation to the Ohana house. It is a separate house a little more dated and bathrooms not as great. I did not like the darkness and we did have an ant problem in the kitchen. The fourth bedroom for the kids is attached to the master so that was not good for us as grandparents and we took a minor room. Liked the family room space a lot. However, the plus was the back yard. The kids had a dance party one night and we didn’t have to worry about the noise we made. The air conditioner was very loud next to the master bedroom. my opinion after the experience in both, the penthouse for families is amazing. Be aware, we had a late checkout as per my reservation. Even though I checked the day before departure, they screwed up and sent a cleaning gal at 10 the day we were to leave at 7. They honored our reservation but It was a problem to be mentioned. Bottom line, book a penthouse, great place for families. Easy walk to Hyatt or popui beach. Loved walking at 9 a.m. and seeing the turtles or seals on the beach.

Wonderful condos, great location

We stayed in a penthouse condo (B300) and had a lovely time. The unit was very nicely decorated and very clean. 4BR perfect for two families. Large fridge, lots of storage room, good common areas. We loved the quiet pool area just outside and used the community Weber grills multiple times. They also have a great beach closet to borrow chairs and boogie boards and toys. The staff was very helpful and easy to contact when we had questions. While we could have walked to the beach, we found it easier to drive and park closer with all our beach stuff and kids in tow. I would absolutely stay here again.

Private house

We rented the Ohana house , a four bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom house for five of us.
Each us if had our own space and it was very convenient to pool and beach.
Washer and dryer , full kitchen , lots of towels, and we were able to borrow beach chairs and umbrellas
They have a club house with a gym , tennis courts, and a heated pool
You do need a car if you want to venture around the island.
