Located on one of the most beautiful (and private) beaches on an island known for its beautiful beaches, Silavadee Pool Spa Resort is secluded, romantic, and exclusive. It’s a mix of rustic, back-to-nature simplicity, and high-end creature comforts like a French spa and 24-hour butlers who can arrange anything from island tours to private beach barbecues. The 80 rooms and villas are spacious (starting around 500 square feet), and almost all of them have private pools with aqua-massage chairs or Jacuzzis, as well as bang-up ocean views.
In the Area
The island of Koh Samui, or Samui as locals and regular visitors call it, has a history that spans more than 325 years. It was discovered by backpackers several decades ago, but since the 1990s it’s become a present-day sophisticated enclave of excellent spas, dining and nightlife. The Big Buddha Temple is its most famous landmark, and the 40-feet-high golden deity is visited by devout locals as well as tourists. The hotel can also arrange private long-tail boat tours to the Five Islands to see caves, beaches and bamboo houses perched on high limestone cliffs, on islands that were until recently completely inaccessible to foreigners.
How to Get There
I stayed here with my partner in April 2017.
We really enjoyed our stay.
I would highly recommend getting a pool villa. It was fantastic to go and chill in your own space with a good size swimming pool and loungers.
The staff were great !!
We had hold a wedding in Silavadee during the mid of June, everything was just perfect! Ms. Nanni and her team had helped us to arrange all the details and turned it to a dream wedding. It was raining in the afternoon, luckily it stopped during the ceremony.. all the guests were amazed by the decoration, live band and fire show. Really had a good time to have all the family friends gathering together. Staffs are friendly and the resort itself is quiet, having their own private beach makes the resort more relaxing! Well done!
I have just completed a stay with my partner in Room 304 which is a Deluxe Room with ocean views (3rd floor) which sit higher up the resort with a view of the villas. We had a lovely stay, but did experience a few minor niggles that left us coming away feeling it wasn’t quite up to 5*. Reception staff were great, check in was quick and easy as staff arranged for our bags to be taken to our room, and the majority of staff very friendly and smiley. Food was the highlight of the resort - good mix of Thai and western, all fresh with attention to detail. Breakfast was a choice of buffet or a la carte and you could have a bit of both, lovely smoothies, large amount of fruit etc to start the day. We had a couples massage at the Spa - this was also beautiful, very romantic and relaxing and worth the money.
During our stay the hotel hosted a wedding for a Thai couple, so for 2 days the hotel was dominated by their guests. The evening restaurant was closed one night as a result and moved to the cafe, and we were again taken to the cafe the next morning at breakfast until the wedding guests had finished as there was no space left in the restaurant. While I understand staff focusing on the gorgeous wedding and their guests, we felt it did take their attention away from ourselves. On one evening, we ordered room service (we only ordered a bucket of ice to
enjoy drinks in the room) at around 22:00 - by midnight it simply just hadn’t arrived so we just went to bed (we shouldn’t have to chase things up at a 5* resort). I should also mention check out - no one came to collect our bags despite Reception having our check out/collection time so we carried these down the three floors ourselves. Staff then made us wait at Reception after we had paid the bill until they sent someone up to check our room before we were allowed to board our transfer bus (was this to check we hadn’t damaged anything or to check the mini bar? Very odd).
Overall, we had a lovely time, but we would recommend paying the extra and staying in a villa which looked a lot more special (we felt a bit less important being one of the few in a room as the majority of the resort are villa’s. Staff should also focus on their customer service during check out.
We host our wedding there in mid-June. We wanted a beach wedding since three years ago and so we have very high expectations. And we couldn't have had our wedding in any better way.
We visit the resort in March to check the authenticity of the pictures. It looks exactly like that on the screen, if not better. And there are also plenty of hotels nearby with a varying price range, so you can put your guests within a few minutes walking distance if under a budget.
The wedding planner, Nan, has been amazing. She took care of all the under-the-scene arrangements of a wedding. All we have to do is to let her know how we picture our ideal wedding. Silavadee being such a beautiful venue, I can only imagine how busy she is, but she still managed to keep me updated with her progress when I needed them.
The view of the Oceanfront Pool Villa Suite is just breathtaking. The food is fantastic too. All my guests are very happy on our big day. It was a certainly a dream-come-true.
All in all, I one-hundred-percent recommend Silavadee for your wedding. Book it while it is still available.
