Mantra no more comfortable.
Reviewed 3 days ago

Mantra still have nice sea view and rooms but still too far and hard to in and out.

5 times stayed at Mantra.
Hotel owner was changed maybe i guess.
It’s not comfortable with shuttle service and cannot expect 5star breakfast. bad food everyday.

You need to go lobby yourself for booking shuttle. cannot booking with phone. It’s ridiculous. You have to pay 400~500THB for taxi every in and out each if not using shuttle. Only One shuttle bus for 11 people.

It’s good choice for spend full time in the resort and food at hotel. Most ridiculous thing is you have to go lobby yourself for book a shuttle.

kind staff but i can’t feel 5star hotel anymore.

Ko samui too expensive and i don’t want back.

Amazing resort! Beautiful location

So this review is a bit late as we stayed in March. Myself and my husband stayed for 6 nights and all I can say is WOW!!!! This resort and its staff was amazing from arriving to check out we were treated by polite, friendly and happy staff! The rooms were amazing we had a sea view room and it definitely lived up to its name With panoramic views of the sea and lush greenery. The rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful! Breakfast was plentiful and amazing views from the restaurant. We ate both lunch and dinner in the restaurant and it was reasonably priced, however I must say I have noticed the hike in prices in Thailand since our last visit in 2014. We also used the spa and this was great value for money and a lovely setting. My husband used the gym daily and was impressed stating it was one of the best hotel gyms he has seen in a long time! The hotel does a shuttle service to Fishermans Village and Chaweng which are a must to visit.
In all we had an amazing stay at the Mantra and would most definitely recommend. The only downside was the shuttle service need to be more frequent and also it was disappointing to learn when we had friends visit us for an hour who had come over from Ko Pha-ngan especially to see us they were told if they wanted to use the pool and a sun bed they would have to pay 1,000THB (£25!!!) each! They literally were there for an hour and had been travelling so just wanted to cool off before getting on their way, this I thought was a bit tight considering it was a quiet day and plenty of fun beds around the pool!!! Obviously we didn’t pay this and had to cut their visit short which was disappointing.

Bedside the above we had a lovely stay and was sad to leave.

Lovely resort-poor shuttle bus service

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at mantra samui. The pool and restaurant area is so idyllic. with perfect scenery and the food (especially dinner) is amazing. The hotel grounds are very nice and the overall resort is very relaxing. Rooms are spacious and kept very clean. We stayed in the WOW room which really did have a ‘wow’ view of the ocean. Only criticism I have is that of the shuttle bus. The resort is located far up a hill so walking is sort of out of the question. The hotel offers a shuttle bus which only runs to fisherman’s village/the main shopping centre 4 times a day. Getting a spot on the shuttle bus (as it only takes about 10 people) is sometimes tricky. The staff are helpful in that when it’s full they will order you a taxi (which is about 300 baht)-but this is slightly annoying when other guests are getting a free ride. I really think this should be looked into if possible to give all guests a better chance and would make the hotel more amazing. Apart from that we had a great stay.

A perfect way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary

We were very impressed when we arrived at Mantra Samui. It was very clean, well decorated and elegantly done. The staff were all very friendly and happy. The room was very big and had a beautiful bathroom. Our view of the ocean was breathtaking and we enjoyed opening the curtains every morning to see it. The minibar was stocked sufficiently with different options of drinks, however the food choice was a bit limited.

The food at breakfast had a good variety and it was always tasty. There was plenty of fresh fruit and a cooking station for made to order eggs. There was pastries and toast as well as fruit juice. There was a selection of very tasty Thai dishes that varied per day. While we were there we didn't eat the same thing twice. The staff were attentive and offered tea and coffee when we sat down and cleared our plates away promptly when we finished.

The pool area boasts an infinity pool and amazing views and plenty of sunbeds. They also provide towels which was a nice touch. There is also a swim up bar and a good variety of drinks. The fresh young coconuts are a must to try!

The hotel is set back from the main road and up some steep roads so we highly recommend hiring a scooter from the hotel. There are shuttle buses that operate several times a day though which are free but you do need to book them as they have limited spaces. There is also an option to pay 100bht for a lift from the hotel to the main road and then walk from there and get a taxi back however that can all add up over the holiday. Be prepared to barter on taxis.

When you do venture down to the town, visit the Fisherman's Village. It's a hive of activity in the evenings and you can find a variety of cuisine to tickle your tastebuds. We recommend the Coffee Club for amazing burgers, any number of local Thai places - you cannot pick a bad one, Coco Tam for drinks on the beach and Cyan Spa if you want a fabulous massage or pedicure. We went 4 times and you overlook the beach. We also booked a cooking class at Infusion and created some authentic Thai dishes.

All in all if you are looking for a relaxing break we would recommend Mantra Samui Resort.

the rooms as usual was amazing with the view but not the same as our first visit.

breakfast is not good we found the food bland and boring.. the menu before was much better. we ordered lunch as a four and the food was brought out wrong three times.. not great as four of us wanted to have lunch together but ended up having to eat without our friend otherwise the food would be cold.

Shuttle bus system needs to be changed because before guests could call down to book it and now you need to go to the reception and write your name on the list by the time you go around 9am it is already full so our friends had to get up at 6am just to put our names down otherwise we would of had to spent 300-400baht for taxis each way.

the staff has always been welcoming and we loved the location but it is not as great as it used to be.
