How to Get There
This world-class retreat offers picturesque views, superb hospitality, fine dining, a relaxing atmosphere, and high-quality designer full-service suites. Code is a destination for those wanting to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Koh Samui.
We recently had an 11 night stay at Code and enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed in an ocean view suite which revealed a panoramic view across the Gulf of Thailand and the islands nearby. A private balcony with a day bed provided a lovely space to sit out. The room was spacious and really comfortable, the only downside was a particularly squeezy shower stall but that just required a bit of management. Sweep fans and a great air conditioner kept the humidity at bay. There is a big swimming pool with pool side service for drinks and snacks.
The breakfast selection was excellent with a good balance to suit all diners served in a buffet style. At times it reverts to a la carte for hot meals. There is an excellent selection of juices, fresh fruits, cereals, dried fruits, breads, pastries, croissants, preserves, full hot breakfast Western style, and a great selection of Asian meals too. You couldn't possibly leave without eating well. There are also lunch and dinner offered at Vanilla, so in reality you could easily never leave the resort ! There is also a happy hour for cocktails which was very well patronised. The gym provides a reasonable range of equipment so with a little improvisation you can do a good workout with the bonus of a glorious view ! If the gym is not your thing there are plenty of stairs to keep you in shape. The resort does not have a lift so our rooms on level three gave us plenty of reasons not to forget anything when we were going out !!
A special mention goes to the staff who really made our stay so very special - particularly the ladies who cleaned the rooms who were not only quick and thorough but also absolutely hilarious. The staff at Vanilla were also fabulous. The drivers who took us up and down to Bang Por were great too. ( The resort gives you a phone for a pick up from the local 7/11 to bring you back to the resort - it is walkable but it would be a sweaty business requiring several cold beers to rehydrate). Office staff again were helpful to a fault - a special shout out to Nune, who gave us some excellent ideas for a half day chauffeured drive to the sights of the island, directly from the resort. In short this was an excellent stay and we will be delighted to stay here again.
It's a great hotel with wonderful charm.
The rooms were very modern, clean and well designed. We really liked almost everything.
The spa is amazing - it's probably more expensive than you get at the street but it worth every penny.
The staff is overall pretty good. The manager helped us to book a couple tours.
The breakfast - well it good compared to others but it might be improved a little bit. The bread wasn't fresh and a couple of times I asked for oatmeal without raisins but the staff just didn't get it.
There is no beach at the hotel, but The Code is part of the group that owns the Chi bar. It's great bar on the shore with the perfect atmosphere to chill :)
