Wonderful relaxing trip to wind down
Reviewed 4 days ago

The resort offers everything we need for our short getaway.
Beautiful and spacious rooms with excellent shower and bath, excellent buffet breakfast, poolside bites, casual and romantic dining options, infinity pool that’s instagram-able and good for stamina swim. Our favourite part of the hotel is of course the wonderful staff from the landscaping team to reception, f&b, housekeeping, concierge and even the traffic controlling guy - they’ve never failed to greet with the southern thailand smile and sawadee kaa
We’ll definitely be back for our next thai beach getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at Lawana even the weather wasn’t that great. The swing in the room is the plus. My daughter had lots of fun on the swing above the pool. The staffs in the resort are very friendly.

Exceptional service

Anantara lawana was the last hotel I stayed at in Thailand with my partner to celebrate his birthday.

Firstly we instantly noticed the difference in service in comparison to other hotels, ALL staff (reception, waiters, cleaners, grounds men etc) were exceptionally friendly, polite, respectful and made our stay as personal as possible.

The hotel is in a good location about a 10-15 min walk from the start of the chaweng “strip”. There is also a mini mart opposite.

The grounds of the hotel are constantly kept in tack by gardeners which makes the setting beautiful with high trees and a leafy jungle theme.

Rooms were modern, clean and spacious. They included a free coffee machine, USB charging ports, free handy phone and also not two complimentary bottles of water, on most days we were given 4-6! The bathroom was massive with good smelling products, handy magnifying mirror, comfortable slippers. Air con and WiFi worked perfectly well.

The Infinity pool over looking the beach was beautiful and there was always sun beds available. I would note that from about 4pm onwards the hotel isn’t in full sun by the pool/beach due to its location.

Breakfast was delicious and by far one of the best I have had at any hotel. The choice was vast, fresh eggs, sautéed potatoes, fresh pancakes, fruit, bakery, variety of fresh juices, noodle station, gluten free options, yogurts, cold meats, cereal etc.

I would highly recommend staying here, the reason this hotel stands out in comparison to others in Thailand is for the exceptional staff service, this is something you cannot buy, thanks for an incredible stay and I am already looking forward to returning.

Could be so much better

Pretty good location, nice private beach, good sized pool and a fantastic restaurant (tree tops, which I’ll review separately).
Welcome drinks on arrival with management was a nice touch.

Staff were all very friendly but a real mix of competence, some were excellent, some were terrible.

Breakfast had a good range of choice, the seating area was a bit cramped, however that could have been due to the rains as they couldn’t use outdoor seating.

The only problems we had were related to the room, which made the stay a 3 star.
The room itself is good, but the bathroom isn’t designed for rain, and unfortunately we had a lot of rain, so the bathroom was constantly wet. That could be overlooked as I imagine we got quite abnormal weather, but also the room service isn’t good enough. We asked for an ice bucket, had to try 3 times before one arrived, We asked for the room to be turned down a bit later as we had a late sitting booked at the restaurant, but it didn’t get done. It was little niggles like this that got frustrating after a while, as every time we requested something for the room- it was very hit and miss, and more often miss.

Best Getaway

Our stay was pleasant and amazing. Very courteous staff ..right from checkin to our short three day stay we had Bronji all around the property interacting with us. We were celebrating our anniversary and had a beautiful time at the property. Being vegetarians we had no problem with food variety too. We visited the SPA and had the ultimate relaxing feel post that. The property also has a beautiful restaurant called Tree Tops and you will not leave a sign of being romantic with dim candle lights. Surely recommend to all to visit the property and spend atleast a week. Feel relaxed and refreshed ❤️
