How to Get There
Stayed here for a week in a villa with pool and sea view and it was superb. All the staff here were kind and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very relaxed and pampered. I would like to thank Pancake who greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our lovely room, Bee who kept our villa neat and tidy,Oh- who brought our drinks on the beach and everyone who made our stay here unforgettable (there are too many to mention!)
We were here to celebrate my 50th birthday with friends and my family. When we arrived we were greeted by the reception with a refreshing drink and peppermint cold towel, When our room was ready they had decorated our bed with a Happy Birthday sign and a birthday cake. The rooms we had were the plunge pools room which we had 3 connecting rooms made available to us. The plunge pools were huge and the rooms were very clean and lovely decorated. The bed was king size and very comfortable as were the pillows. The aircon worked well and the garden looking out of the rooms were kept very neat and tidy, a credit to the gardeners. The buffet breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices. The shared pool was big and had a great view. The hotel is very close to the main town centre but yet in a quit corner away from the hustle and bustle. The drink selection was very good and the Thai wine was very nice. We enjoyed free yoga classes every morning and the yoga teacher JAK was a great teacher, such a kind and lovely person whom made you feel very welcome and always greeted you by remembering your name.
The resort was really lovely, but the thing that stood out the most to us where the staff. The staff, especially the ones from Buffet breakfast, Ocean Kiss dining, Crab Schack and pool bar where all such beautiful people who always greeted you with a smile, remembered what you like to drink, how you liked your coffee and where you liked to sit on the beach. Such amazing staff that is a credit to this hotel. The exceptional staff members whom we would like to mention are: Jak- the yoga teacher, Moo- pool side bar ( what a happy and lovely man he is) , Kate- Breakfast buffet staff ( very delightful person whom made sure all staff for the morning breakfast was aware of what we liked to drink for coffee as soon as we sat down) Honey, Oh, Yong, Boy, Tony, Rudd …..they are very special people with a friendly smile and they all made our stay very memorable. Much appreciated by us John, Ingrid, Pam and Felice. Thanks guys. We would definitely be staying here again.
Excellent location and property spread across a vast area. Less than 10mins drive from Samui international airport. We stayed in a pool villa which is big, has all amenities and a mini pool within the villa. Staff is courteous and very proactive. Rooms are well maintained and breakfast has a very decent spread. Supermarkets also located just outside the hotel in case u need any daily accessories. You also have a Mall within 20mins drive from the hotel. Tried the spa and their signature massage is a must try if you like the traditional Thai massage. All in all a superb stay and will recommend if you plan to have a relaxing holiday.
This hotel resort has everything a place of this category should have. But: two huge minuses i our view.
- The breakfast is suffering. It is a beautiful spread in a heat and no fan / cover helps. Only a tiny cabin with cheeses etc is airconditioned. We tried several spots and would eat quickly just to escape the area asap. It is such a pitty for great food and otherwise pretty location.
- There is very little natural shade in the resort. Our way to the beach and area around pool is uncovered. There are some tall palm trees but insufficient for a shade. We could not enjoy the area as we did in similar places.
I give this resort 5 points for their staff. They were absolutely amazing: very warm, professional and patient. My special praise goes to Ms. Honey, Mr. Pique and Mr. Sunny and their General Manager, who truly cares for their customers.
Really lovely hotel, met with a freshing drink and cool towel. Pancake checked us in and was fabulous - talented golf buggy driver in the rain!
Our room was lovely, clean, spacious - felt like a spa!
On the first evening we had a few problems. Firstly the room was noisy as the hostel/hotel over the road were playing loud music. Secondly we had no hot water. I went to reception about midnight and they immediately offered to send an engineer out for the water. I declined as my husband was sleeping, but asked that someone looked in the morning.
In the morning I went to reception to ask to move rooms because of the noise. Sun assisted me. She was absolubtely brilliant. I felt so terrible for making a fuss, but Sun was professional and understanding throughout. She was clear about which alternative rooms could be offered, and which rooms would incur a fee. In the end we opted for a ground floor room on the other side of the resort which was just perfect. A lovely surprise on the second night was a bottle of fizz and a small celebration cake for our honeymoon.
I loved everything about the hotel, but the thing that really stood out (apart from the pool) was the staff. Everyone - porters, engineers, catering staff, grounds men, waitresses, lobby staff, the crossing guard, the guys at the entrance, the housekeeping staff - were all kind, helpful and friendly. I only wish I had remembered more names to give excellent feedback.
We treated ourselves to the hotel for honeymoon - it is much more expensive than we would normally afford. As a result, we didn’t try any in house dining or spa treatments as they are pricey. However the included breakfast was yummy, and the happy hour drinks were about reasonable!!
THanks for a wonderful stay to ALL the staff at Ananatara Lawana.
