How to Get There
I’m back home now & not only do I miss the good food, shops and attractions in Osaka but I also miss the exceptional service I received during my recent stay at IC Osaka.
Prior to my stay, I was surprised to receive an email from Munf at hotel reservations advising they found 3 of my separate bookings and really helped very nice rooms for each of my stays. Thank you Munf!
The concierge team led by Asako san was superb. I needed help to make a number of restaurant reservations for Osaka and Kyoto, and they were all arranged timely and responsively by the team. Special thanks to Miho-San, Emi-San and Raymond.
Upon arriving KIX airport, we took airport limo to New Hankyu Hotel bus stop, the hotel sent a hotel car to meet us at the stop and take us to hotel free of charge.
Check in was smooth with no wait. When I checked in again after returning from Kyoto, the luggages I left behind in Osaka were already waiting for me at the room. Received free drink vouchers as Spire Ambassador benefit.
The views of Umeda Sky Building and river were beautiful, AM housekeeping and PM turn down service - it was nice touch to place candies by pillow during turndown.
Overall, I am very pleased with my stay and IC Osaka has been my BEST Intercontinetal experience so far!
Thank you for making our stay a very enjoyable one.
It is the first time in Osaka and i choosed the hotel for my holiday with my family.
Hotel located in the center of business and shopping area. It is also very near to the big train station. Highly Recoomend
This is the best Intercontinental that I have stayed around the world. High level service and very details with all aspects. This is beyond my expectations.
I have stayed from 29Jan to 01Feb 2019 for vacation. Hotel is about less than 30 minutes away from Itami Airport. If you take Limousine bus, you need to stop at New Hankyu Hotel and walk about 6 minutes. You can see this hotel from New Hankyu Hotel.
The lobby is on 20th Floor and because I was booked on Club Room, I have done check in at 35 floor.
Thank you so much to Edwin Santos for your high level of service and all the club lounge staff that made my stay memorable.
Location is a top notch. Which is? Walking distance to Osaka Station, Umeda Station and many shopping malls.
Room was big at 2616. Very clean room, comfortable bed.
Gym was good. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. I took breakfast at the lounge.
Upon check out, Bill was accurately prepared.
I will of course be happy to return to this property.
This place has been highly rated by the TA community, already. But I want to give you my views. I have travelled the world and stayed in many incredible hotels, but this is right up there in the top 3! The room is huge for Japan, the breakfast is remarkable for its quality and atmosphere. The room is probably the best design I have seen, anywhere. The proportions are spot on and the amenities just perfect. Electric blinds meant we could witness the sunrise from our bed! The bathroom design is advanced and open - I can understand if you have children it’s a bit too exposed, but for couples, young people and honeymooners, it’s perfect. It’s even perfect for baby-boomers, let me tell you! The concierge desk is possibly the nicest, most qualified I have witnessed; and we had superb assistance from all the team, but particularly Yukari and Emi, both of whom know and understand Australia well and are big fans. Asako runs a formidable team there! Thank you to all of them for their directions, restaurant reservations and general tourist help. We were combining business and pleasure, so it was a delight to deal with them. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, it’s superb - only a short walk from the Osaka Train Station and the KIX Airport Limousine Bus Terminal, and within easy reach of numerous cafes, restaurants and shopping. Savour the memories!
2 night stay at IC Osaka after a week snowboarding in Hokkaido. Pre-stay communication was excellent and the complimentary pickup and dropoff at New Hankyu hotel (airport bus stop closest to IC Osaka) much appreciated. It’s only a 1 min drive, but 400 metres can be quite far while dragging luggage or little people on busy sidewalks.
Hotel is connected to Grand Front Osaka (a fancy mall) and a short walk to the JR Osaka or subway (various lines). There are plenty of shopping malls and the usual chains around IC Osaka so there is no real need to go to Namba (4 stops JPY230) unless you really want a selfie with the glico man. Being a major transportation hub, lots of famous restaurants have a branch at Umeda.
Reserved a deluxe and got a one level Ambassador upgrade to a premium king which is like a junior suite (FYI they do not have twin bed set up for the premium rooms). Spacious and modern, even had a walk in wardrobe. Local honey sweets in turn down service was a nice touch.
Bathhouse was lovely, with indoor Japanese bath and 2 saunas. Totally empty when I visited at around 3-4pm on a Saturday. English instructions on the lockers for those not familiar with bathhouse etiquette. HOWEVER, it is not possible to wear the yukata between your room and the bathhouse (or at least I would feel uncomfortable doing so) since you need to change lifts at the lobby area to get to the bathhouse.
While I typically dislike large hotels, it never got too noisy or busy in the lobby and public areas (unlike say IC Bangkok). The high ceiling definitely helped. Not sure what scent they use in the public areas but it made the hotel smell and feel classy. Definitely a five star experience.
