How to Get There
What a wonderful resort , set over 3 kl of coast outside Nha Trang once here you never want to leave ! Our room was lovely , huge bed great bathroom, only quibble could have used a reading light over bed ! Most villas have there own pools , as ours did not we used the pool at La Baia restaurant which was very quiet in fact on some occasions we had it to ourselves. The food here & at Sandals the main restaurant was excellent for both Dinner & Lunch . Breakfast was also brilliant at both & the room service breakfast baskets were very good . But what made our holiday was the friendly efficient service , nothing was to much trouble & all the staff from managers down went out of their way to help. For my birthday a beer for breakfast , cake at dinner & a baseball cap.. The little details were taken care off daily. Because the resort is so spread out you can use a golf buggy to move around , but one call & they are there within 5 mins never more than 10! So would I go back? yes , in a heart beat & recommend it to my friends definitely
We stayed here for a week to finish our trip in Vietnam/Cambodia. We were welcomed with a welcome drink of sugarcane juice (as ‘Mia’ is the Vietnamese word for sugarcane) and panacotta which was very good. The resort is situated on a cliff with a beautiful ocean view, 2km long. To get around the staff drive you in golf buggies which is a unique experience. There are two restaurants and one bar. The main one is Sandals, where the main breakfast buffet is served and where a Vietnamese buffet which takes place on Wednesday and a seafood buffet which takes place on Saturday occurs. Sandals also has the main pool which includes a kids pool. The second restaurant is La Baia which I thought was very nice and there is also a second, much more quiet and peaceful swimming pool. Both swimming pools in the resort are infinite pools. The Mojito Bar is the main bar in Mia Resort. It has a wide variety of drinks as well as a small food menu. The resort also operates a free shuttle service to the city of Nha Trang which is half an hour away. We had an ocean view family condo which was large and spacious. All the staff are very friendly including the manager, Cindy who is very kind and great to talk to. Overall this resort has been fantastic and I highly recommend this resort.
We are well travelled and found the Mia resort to be among the best we have experienced. The resort is truly stunning. All staff are so happy and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We found the location of the hotel perfect. Set outside Nah Trang it is quiet and set in it's own little piece of paradise. Set right on the beach it really is perfect.
It is not a large resort but spread out so everyone has their own space. Cindy the resort manager is amazing. She gets to know everyone personally. I think there was only one day out of our 8 night stay when we did not see Cindy out and about around the resort.
Both restaurants are first class but we did prefer the Italian. We found the prices to be very similar at both. Being keen walkers we preferred to walk around the resort but golf buggy's were constantly passing us and always stopped to offer us a lift. Alternatively you can ring from your room to request and they turn up within minutes,
The beach is beautiful and the beach staff do not let you do a thing. They are on hand all day to put your sun beds where you require them and move parasols to protect you from the sun.
The Activities Manager Chris is an amazing guy. He is very friendly and full of local information. He tailor made a couple of trips for us and they were both amazing. We would highly recommend contacting Chris before you book a trip from anywhere else.
Personally we liked Nah Trang. We took the free shuttle bus in most evenings and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would imagine that in the day it may well be commercialised but we did not find it to be a dump as some have described it. We loved the local street life and experiencing all the culture. Yes they sit on the streets and cook their food but we found this fascinating (no we did not try the street food). Crossing the road is an interesting experience but by the end of our stay we were more confident. We would highly recommend Lanterns, a traditional Vietnamese restaurant with very helpful staff. The hotel will give you directions. A meal for 4 of us with drinks cost us on average £20.00 for all 4 of us. It is approx 15 minute walk from where the shuttle bus drops you off.
There is nothing to fault about the Mia resort. We had a garden Villa with a lovely sea view. No we were not on top of the sea but we could certainly see it. We also visited a sea front villa with a pool. The villas are the same, it is just the position and if you want a pool or not. We had a lovely garden and found our villa to be very quiet and private. We stayed in 407 and our friends 408.
We hope very much to return to Mia resort in a few years time. It is the perfect resort with the most friendly amazing and helpful staff.
Just coming to the end of a week’s stay at the Mia outside Nha Trang - and what a fab week. The Mia is a fantastic hotel, 20-30 minutes outside Nha Trang, roughly halfway between the airport and Nha Trang City. Nha Trang City is very busy, chaotic and over-run with tourists, the vast majority being from Russia and China. However the hotel is a real oasis, occupying its own bay and built in to the hillside, down to the sea. The design is lovely as it is built in to the hill and so not obvious from the main road - unlike many other hotels that are like a massive concrete jungle, the Mia is so nicely spread out with greenery everywhere that you can barely see all the buildings. It covers a massive area and so they provide golf-buggies to ferry guests about. What, however, makes the Mia amazing are the team who run it along with every member of staff - nothing is too much.... We had a lovely and warm welcome on arrival with cold towels, sugarcane juice and the most amazing panacotta in the Mojito Bar, where we were checked in. Then driven to our family condo - large and beautifully designed in lovely colours. Nice private balcony by the waters edge. The rooms are very well equiped with AC, insect repellant, toothpaste, safes and a little kitchenette with a microwave. Restaurants - Sandals is the main one serving buffet breakfast (really good with western and Vietnamese, along with some dim sum, and a lovely variety of fruits, breads, muffins, juices and coffees). Coffees are always amazing. Sandals is also by the pool and serves all day food and also ala carte dinner except on Wednesday nights and Saturday nights when they do a Vietnamese night and Seafood BBQ respectively. All food very good. La Baia is the other restaurant serving good Italian but also ala carte breakfasts. It is situated next to another pool.
Back to the staff - they really make this place special - it is impossible to name a single one as everyone is so polite and friendly, but a special mention to the lovely Cindy (we love you Cindy!), all the reception staff especially Son, staff in Sandals snd La Baia - they provide such a personalised service.
In summary the Mia is a fantastic, beautiful but also classy and chic with amazing service. Thanks to all the team for a lovely week... We will miss you all but remember you all and the Mia for years to come......
We stayed 3 nights at Mia in a ocean view condo. The room was large and beautiful. They have thought of everything. The only thing I found wrong with our room was the 'drip' coffee maker in the room. It's useless. I would have preferred instant.
All of the restaurants had good food and drinks. We went for a couples massage at the spa. The ladies did a wonderful job.
Location is about a 20 min drive to Nha Trang. So it is quite secluded.
We would definitely stay at Mia again if we ever make it back to Vietnam.
