Jet lag recuperation

What a wonderful respite after 24 hours of traveling. The hotel is beautiful and everyone there was so friendly and helpful from the first "karibu" (welcome). The rooms are beautiful and spacious, our butler James, delightful. The food is good, big breakfast buffet with omelets to order. Lots of variety on the menu, lamb shank was spectacular. And the service. I ordered a fancy bar drink but when I tasted it I didn't like it. Nothing wrong just not for me. So i ordered a glass of wine. I fully expected to pay for both drinks but they didn't charge me for the first one. Then after I had a sip of the wine my friend accidentally knocked over my glass. They brought me another glass and again wouldn't charge me. I think that pretty much sums up the level of service. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and offer my thanks for the perfect start to my African adventure.

Five Star at its Best

Hemingways is truly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are excellent and the grounds are stunning. The staff was quite nice and the breakfast in the morning was very tasty. The wifi worked well and we had an all around excellent stay.

High Tea

Whenever in Nairobi, my visit to Hemingway is a must, this place never disappoints me, beginning to like this establishment. Usually we go for night cap, this time it was a day light visit. Service can’t fault, always with the smile from top to bottom. This time family decided to indulge in high tea and club sandwiches, very tasty and well presented. Before I leave for UK will make a point to visit the establishment as it is that good. I recommend highly to the visitors to Nairobi to either stay or do a day visit, it’s a must.

Wonderful Stay

The Hemingways Nairobi is relatively new. The grounds are spacious and well kept. The public areas are nicely appointed. The service was excellent. For dinner, we had a beef and a pork choice off the menu and each was excellent. Beautiful and relaxing views from spacious suites. Our bathroom had two separate sinks, a walk-in rain shower, soaking tub and walk-in closet with two sets of dresser drawers.

Internet connection is good and complementary. Bed was hard but comfortable with mosquito netting. A limited number of foam pillows are available upon request. Complementary tea, coffee and water. Tea kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. I especially liked the TV that pops up from the chest. Our room had a desk with good lighting and an electronic panel. Outlets by both sides of the bed. The room lighting could be a brighter and the light switches are somewhat tricky to master.
We stayed one night, it provided a great chance to recover from jet lag before rushing into safari
