How to Get There
Our family spent 4 days at Louisville, we stayed at Seelbach. When we walk in, we were greeted by a very special person, his name is Larry Johnson, he is lobby concierge of the hotel, he almost instant to give us home coming feeling. My daughter is historic and horse fan, so he told her a lots of stories and getting her excited about visiting Louisville. The hotel is an old historical hotel, location is great.
The room is ok, we are on 7th floor, the executive lounge is not that impressive, same breakfast everyday, evening serve small choice of Hors d'oeuvre .
Valet Parking is $27.00. people are very friendly.
Really special that was Larry brought a special gift for my daughter and she is so happy.
On a whim, I decided to take a solo weekend away to explore some of the bourbon distilleries near the area. I knew I wanted to stay in downtown Louisville, and I wanted to stay close to 4th Street and some of the restaurants near there. This hotel came up and had a great price compared to some of the other hotels in the area.
Upon walking in, it was easy to see why the Seelbach was the choice for celebrities of yesteryear; it oozes opulence and is bursting at the seams with vintage charm. From the grand chandeliers to the high ceilings with crown moulding, no detail was spared and the hotel strives to keep up with the timeless elegance found around every corner.
The room itself was small, but well appointed. The king size bed was comfy and the bed linens were crisp and clean. The bathroom was updated to meet today's luxury standards, but still seemed period appropriate. The highlight of the room, however, was the floor to ceiling window with a French balconet railing overlooking the street below. The views from the 12th floor were stunning. The room was also very quiet; I had a wonderful night's sleep and heard relatively little noise from other rooms or the streets below.
The location of this hotel is unbeatable, at the very south end of 4th Street and within walking distance to pubs, bars, and shops.
I had an excellent stay and would not hesitate to return to the Seelbach whenever my adventures lead me back to Lousiville.
I marked this as a business trip which it was, however the family came along for some fun as well. Great location. You can walk to a lot of different things. Very nice vintage feel with high class atmosphere and staff at an affordable cost!
Had 1-night stay to see city, nice hotel & would choose Hilton again.
Executive room nice & large, plus lounge nice extra additional ammenity in morning. & evening time. Lots of eating establishments close by in walking distance.
Wonderful experience returning the this hotel. Seven years ago we were engaged in the Seelbach's Rathskeller; an early 1900's ballroom. The ceiling, walls and fluted columns are covered in beautifully ornate rookwood tile; the only such surviving facility in the world.
