Beautiful historic hotel in Louisville
Gractia M

The Brown Hotel is a Louisville landmark. It's interior is beautiful and restored in such a way that it still holds all of the old charm, but is comfortable. The lobby bar area is gorgeous, it's a great place to sit and talk and just look at the gorgeous architecture. We stayed on the Club level, but I would not recommend it. The room was great, very large. But the Club lounge is really not what we expected. It is very small, extremely quiet and stuffy, and just overall was not a good place to relax. The food (continental breakfast and appetizers during happy hour) was not good at all. It's just not worth it for just a glass or two of "free" wine and a crappy snack/breakfast. But other than that, we loved the hotel and location and would stay there again.

Great history and very nice people

We were there with family and they treated us so well. Doug at the bell stand was reallly helpful during our visit. Abbie at the front desk was also helpful. The lobby dining room staff were so gracious, I think it was George. We saw the hotel manager Bart several times and he was so nice. Our room cleaner was also so pleasant but I cant remember her name, we don't always see such nice cleaning staff.

The Brown Hotel

A very nice historical hotel. There were historical artifacts throughout the entire hotel. Loved seeing the tables in the hallways with books for the guest reading pleasure. Staff was very friendly. Service in the bar was a bit slow but the food was good. The room and beds were very small, which made for a restless night. Overall, it was a very nice hotel.
