How to Get There
One of my favorite all time hotels to stay at. Great amenities throughout and you can do several things without leaving the building. That is saying something during a harsh winter as we did not leave in the evenings, which made the business trip that much nicer.
Although the Amway Grand is a lovely hotel, the room I was in had dirty bed linens. After arriving, I noticed several short curly hairs (pubic) on the top of one of our two beds. I called housekeeping and requested new bed linens. Housekeeping came and straightened the bed, but never replaced the linens. I called the front desk and asked for new bed linens again, as the short curly hairs were not ours. Upon check-out the front desk asked how my stay was and I explained about the dirty bed linens. The front desk informed me that they were short on linens. I am sorry, but that is unacceptable. I spent over $1,000 for two rooms for two nights, they should be able to supply clean linens. Gross and disgusting!
I feel I would have had a better and less expensive experience as far as relaxation goes by staying at Drury or Holiday Inn Express. Room was tired and in need of updating. There was no counter in the bathroom and no dresser (small drawers hidden in closet). Everything required strategy to be efficient. The walls were thin. I heard every soul in the hallway and every drop of water in the pipes from the rooms around me. For the price, I would not stay here again.
After the house keeping manager came, took pictures and complained about their staff still nothing happened.
Arriving to dirty linens, used glasses and a dirty bathroom was what started it off and only getting minimum house keeping by checkout is how it ended. Even the bits of trash in our hallway stayed there throughout our visit.
I've been traveling to the Amway for 8 years for the same expo and the was the roughest experience yet. If it wasn't for the poor state of the house keeping and even the dead flowers replaced with other dead flowers all over the hotel, the stay would have been great unfortunately.
Stayed in the "recently renovated" part of the hotel. One night with parking was $178. You'd be better off staying at a cheaper hotel. No breakfast included. 20 min wait to check-in on a Friday night.
