Nice Motel, Silly Resort Fee
Reviewed 2 months ago

Hotel? No. A nice, modern take on a motel? Yes. My husband and I stayed here for one night as a little get away. We liked it. We liked the view, the rooms, the bathroom and the huge bed. I really liked the updated decor and the space. There is plenty to enjoy. However, what is with every single hotel/motel/resort now having a FEE? This one was especially bad since there is no pool or hot tub and after a certain hour there really is no one around. This is fine but don't charge more just in case people use the bikes or whatever else is listed. Id rather just pay to rent something is needed. If they did away with the "resort fee" I would recommend to others, but unfortunately this killed the good vibe we got since we felt incredibly ripped off.

Great waterfront hotel

From first glance, this looks le one odd those old style roadside model. But is Ben registered, relandacaped and it's fabulous. Our room was attractive and comfortable and had its own patio and garden area with Adirondack chairs overlooking the river. It really is an outstanding place to stay, and walking distance to shops and restaurants in town.

The Yachtsman is better than ever!

We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Yachtsman! Having been regular guests at the Yachtsman since 2001, we had been a little disillusioned the PAST few years with the management and upkeep of the property. The Yachtsman had lost its charm. Not any more! Most importantly, the attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism of the entire staff from GM to housekeeping was exceptional. The aesthetic updates to the entire property are noteworthy. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the water view from your room or patio just can’t be beat. The Yachtsman is a 5 to 10 minute walk to many shopping and dining opportunities…you will never be bored. We hope to return for many years to come!!

Gem of a place!

We just happened to find this place by chance and we are so glad we did. Beautiful, well appointed rooms right on the river, comfortable king size bed, table and chairs outside for morning coffee or afternoon happy hour, lounge chairs for relaxing, great happy hour, morning coffee and fresh baked goods - just about everything you could want. Plus it's just a short walk to downtown/dock square, you can't beat the location. Room was extremely clean, modern amenities, good size refrigerator in the room. We go to Kennebunkport quite a bit and the Yachtsman is now our new go to place. We can't wait to go back again soon!

Kennebunk Dream

I’ve stayed here multiple times and return each time for the view. I knew that the hotel had been redone and I was worried that they’d screw up the quiet ambience. They did NOT! Starting front the young man at the front desk(fabulous) to the redo, also fabulous, to just the cleanliness, it was perfect, I’ll be back, yeh, the view’s still perfect and now only part of the reason I’ll be back.
