Underwhelmed, unfortunately
Reviewed 3 days ago

The hotel is very well decorated and is in a perfect location. We were able to walk to most everywhere we wanted to go in Kennebunkport. They have parking available and a staff member in the parking lot to assist you, as it is a tight lot. The staff was all wonderful, so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant, where both the food and the service. We had excellent cocktails with our meal, so I would highly recommend stopping by the bar. The room we were in had a queen and a twin. It came with a refrigerator.

All of that said, overall, we were very underwhelmed. The photos of the hotel made it look like all of the rooms were fresh and well decorated. The room we were put in was very dated. It was in desperate need of some upgrades. The design and decor were just very old. The mattress and pillows were just bad. Also very old and not super comfortable. Given how cheap it is to buy a decent mattress nowadays I was very surprised by this.

Our room was on the first floor and the hotel did not warn us that a garbage truck would come to empty the bins around 6 am both mornings we were there. We could also hear anytime someone took trash out. It was extremely annoying and loud.

Considering how expensive the hotel was we we ultimately disappointed with our stay because of the quality of our room.

Perfect spot for Christmas Prelude!

Loved the Inn and most especially enjoyed the live carolers singing during this typical old New England weekend!
Also, having a continental breakfast included in the overnight was the perfect way to start the day!

Lovely hotel

Stayed here in June 2018, during a fantastic holiday in New England. A very nice hotel, situated right in the town centre. We loved the free loan bikes but had to get used to the fact that there were no brake levers on the handle bars. The only way to stop was to back pedal - British visitors beware! We cycled out of town and saw ex President George Bush Senior's House. We also rode the bikes out to Goose Rocks Beach and visited the hotel's sister hotel down Hidden Pond Lane. This had a lovely secluded quiet swimming pool and bar area. You'd never know it was there if you didn't know it was there to, if like us, you just stumbled upon it. Maine and Kennebunkport and this hotel in particular are very nice indeed.

What a great place, quaint, clean and convenient. Bed was very comfortable with high quality linens. Much larger than we thought but quiet even though our room was to the main street.
Fun extras, like whoopie pies and a large cheese plate added to our enjoyment.
Strongly recommend for tourists. Everything is walkable. The staff was lovely.
If we have the occasion, we will stay again.
