A luxurious stay

We were here for a wedding, and everything about this property was just amazing. We had a great experience staying here. The catering by the hotel was excellent. Best food I've had! We were really pleased with our stay. The staff was very polite and helpful. The pool was great as well.

Beautiful stay!

Taj West End is one of the best property to stay at Bangalore. You are in the heart of Bangalore yet away from all the noise and pollution. Kudos to Taj they have maintained this heritage property very well.At Masala Klub restaurant you can some of the best dishes in town.

Visited and stayed for a couple days in December 2018 for my husband's birthday.

Checking in: reached mid afternoon and saw a huge crowd due to some wedding functions - long queues and chaos. No one to greet/help. Finally got to the check in desk but even after providing valid id proofs, the person mentions incorrect names. Mistake corrected and the person was nice enough to upgrade us to a suite (we had booked a luxury room).

Room: The room was quite ordinary, heritage should not translate to shabby with old looking furniture and less than comfortable beds. Have seen better beds in much lesser hyped hotels. Balcony had an unpleasant rotting garbage smell. The room itself had a very strong Jasmine smell, possibly to cover up the bad odor.

The bath tub spewed dirty yellowish water on the 2nd day of our stay and the resolution the staff gave was, let the dirty water run out. Did not touch the tub again while there. (Pic attached)

Dining: breakfast spread was good but the service was too slow due to the crowd of people. Should have been handled considering the luxury prices but sadly Taj did not live up to it.

For the birthday, I had ordered a cake to be sent on midnight between 2nd and 3rd Dec. The cake was placed in the room on 2nd 11am and the surprise was spoilt.

Concierge: had also asked for some pics to be placed. Out of 3, only 2 pics were placed and the 3rd one was ignored. One of the pics placed was a portrait mode but was placed rather clumsily in a landscape paper frame. Very inconsequential item but i guess Taj does not have portrait frames so should not have expected it.

The cake was not delivered on the midnight and I had to call them to send it over.

The guest service phone line person was always in a hurry to just transfer the call to a different department.

Checked out on the 3rd and told them a little bit about our problems, staff was apologetic and did not charge us for an in room dining item. But considering I wanted it to be a special experience in luxury, it was not achieved and no amount of discount could make up for the bad birthday experience we had.

Pros: Room upgrade, luxurious suite, wonderful property, service at the front desk
Cons: Service at the restaurant - Mynt was poor, the poolside had too much activity going on, making it difficult to relax.
