How to Get There
We stayed in a Junior suite (thank you, Hilton points!) which was quite lovely and luxurious for 6 nights. My only complaint was mostly our fault. We needed some laundry done and I wasn't wearing my glasses when I filled out the laundry sheet so didn't see the prices. When the 2 bags were returned (nicely folded, etc.) the total was $250!! We did approach the manager with a request for some dispensation. They were not willing to budge on this. Admittedly it was our fault, but in my experience, a few dollars off would have satisfied us and not broken the bank for the Waldorf. We didn't leave there happy. A small thing, but it's the entrance and the exit of guests that make your stay.
Loved the digital elevators. Our room was large with 2 full length doors that opened. Staff was outstanding. Morning breakfast was a true smorgasbord with coffee coming as soon as you sat down. Location could not have been better.
Am glad our group stayed here. There is another grand dame here called King David Hotel which we were supposed to stay. But there is no comparison. Sorry about that. King David Hotel need to update itself badly. The breakfast here is very good and complete. Although service can be better they do try. I have to say the food service staff are not that great. Had a very slow encounter at the bar one night when the lone waiter cannot even attend to us since he was attending to a group of 10 too. The manager did noticed and speed things up a bit. What amazed me was when I paid the bill instead of charging it to my room. I was ask if I want to do a tip without waiting for me to say something about it. Anyway, everyone else from checking in to checking out and door man are fabulous. They make you want to start you day immediately. Always with a smile and welcome back. A pretty great stay and close to the Manilla Mall and old town. Quite Central.
Just completed our fifth Stay at the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem just gets better and better. Prior to our arrival, Alessandro, our Personal Concierge was busy preparing for our arrival, he was there to greet us upon arrival and he was always available to give us a hand during our stay.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mohammad at the front desk. It was a smooth check-in with Mohammad and we especially thank Mohammad for all of his wonderful assistance during our last day at the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. And it was great to again see Ameer, the front office manager with his sense of humor.
And thank you to Shlomi at the concierge desk, always ready to help out with every request.
And we can’t forget George the continually smiling Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem doorman, forever running to greet us with his permanent smile and kind words.
We were happy to see that the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is constantly improving. When you thought that the breakfast could not be any better, we were pleasantly surprised to find new additional items being offered at the best breakfast of any hotel in the world!
The hotel just gets better and better…
Again, can’t wait for our next trip to the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. Hopefully very, very, very soon.
The service curbside to turndown was top drawer. It met the expectations of one who refers its NYC sister property for business. The staff was well trained, mannered and completely attentive. The rooms were generous. Having two restaurants worth dining at after hours of touring was a bonus. Breakfast set the bar for any meals beyond.
