Historic AT It's Best

Hubby & I decided to take a last minute getaway trip from NYC. For the one week we were in A/C we decided to spend two nights in Atlantic City and planned to stay at the Seaview for two nights. Our stay at the Seaview was so pleasant that we decided to extend our stay one additional night.

Renovations are still being conducted here but with little disturbance to the guests.
We are not golfers but there were many guests partaking in their favorite sport.

At check in, Heather was super nice and welcomed us with many pleasantries. The Celebrities photo wall had a lot of history behind it too. We actually stayed here in the past (about 25 years ago) and it was nice then too but better now.

We were assigned a room with a balcony in the Pine Section directly facing the pool. The room was AWESOME. Exactly as pictured in the Seaview website (Thanks,Heather!) Two queen beds- elegant bedding and newly renovated. Coffee maker and mini fridge in the room came in handy.Bottled water and coffee provided. And there was a mini safe it the room that definitely came in handy for me.

We had breakfast each morning in the main dining room - always prepared fresh and tasty. We went outside of the hotel for dinner.

We spent several days by the pool- no lifeguard on duty but the pool was always clean with plenty of chairs and plenty of towels.

Brian & Byron @ Valet were also very helpful with dining suggestions. Brian is now my "Fodor" the next time I am in the area.

No complaints with housekeeping- Lucy was always very prompt with making up our room each day.

One caveat about our room was that the bathroom door remained shut ( I think there was a spring by the hinge that kept it that way) but I would have preferred to have the option of manual closure. No biggie. I just lodged the trash pail to keep the door ajar.

Despite the few negative reviews about the Seaview, our stay was a very pleasant one and the entire staff was very professional and friendly. Would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

Unprofessional customer service

So I checked out on June 30 and forget my swim trunks. I left them in the bathroom to dry). I called the next day and they had not yet cleaned my room. So they took down my name, address and credit card info (for shipping costs) and said they would get back to me. I thought it was odd that I paid $300 per night and they wouldn't pay maybe $8 for shipping - but whatever. So they never got back to me. I called literally 8 more times and they put me on hold and said they would get back to me. They never called me back. They are completely unprofessional. Today - July 16 - I finally spoke to a woman named Michael who said they never found my shorts. Her proof was that it was not listed on her inventory. In other words, their inept keystone cop cleaning staff purposely never wrote it down - so it doesn't exist. It is obvious that if you leave something behind they throw it away and say they never found it. This a golf course resort that is run like an Atlantic city motel. Don't stay here.

Would not return

I just had one of the worst experiences there! We've stayed at over 50 hotels in the last year and do annually. This place is beautiful but the housekeeping comes into your room when you tell them not too and my daughters antibiotic and small bag with items in it was stolen from our room. Housekeeping was advised not to enter and the housekeeping manager Michael entered disregarding our request not too. I had my dog in the room while at the pool (again after being told not too) and in there policy and precedure it states "Never to enter a room without the dogs owner present." I contacted security (which was very helpful) .. each time I tried to contact someone was told, "This is the first we have heard about this." They ignored the fact of how upset I was not only about my privacy being violated but the fact that my dog was put in a very bad situation. My dog is an emotional support dog and if he was to ever try to protect his territory, the housekeeping could have gotten bit by my dog and I would have lost my paperwork to have him next to me as he always is. The housekeeping manager was caught in my room sitting on the chair where my daughter belongings were stolen from petting my dog. I had to contact the General Manager Andrew Stegen who was completely not sincere to the fact at hand. My suggestion is to never trust housekeeping. If you are staying more than one night NEVER allow them into your room while you have belongings there. I asked to file a complaint against Michael and was told NO by the General Manager. Anyone who knows anything about insurance you can not replace antibiotics without paying out of pocket. They tried to accommodate me by giving me $150 in room service. As I stated to the General Manager Andrew Stegen that doesnt even justify my room being entered after speficially stating not to, causing me to spend over 3 hours of my time defending my rights and my dogs well being. This place doesn't deserve a good review nor does Michael deserve to still have a job. The General Manager kept repeating Ma'am we've giving you more than enough. In my opinion, NO they did not. That doesnt even cover the cost of the antibiotic that I had to pay for nor does it cover the fact that they completely disregarded my request not to enter the room, if they had not entered the room and abided by my request this all could have been avoided. Instead they stated there was no proof it was actually taken and no one would be held accountable for this distress and hours of wasted time myself and what my family went through. Wyndham
