How to Get There
We stayed at the Atlantis Inn for the first time during the July 4th week. The inn and the rooms are very nicely decorated and maintained and the bathrooms are very nice.. It is very clean. We enjoyed our breakfast and the selection is totally adequate. They have a couple of aspects which we were not accustomed to but not a big deal. First, you don't have to register upon arrival. It's done in advance and upon arrival there is a four code keyboard for the front door.
Then there is a sign inside directing you to your room. Once there another four digit code gets you into your room. No keys. I would have liked a little more connection to an owner or manager but there are phone numbers to call is you have any issues. Secondly, they send you an email in the afternoon for you to select your breakfast for the next morning. It has to be returned by 6pm. Again, unusual for us but not a big deal. They have a rooftop deck but we did not use it. We will definitely stay there next year.
The Atlantis Inn couldn’t be a better place to stay in Ocean City! It’s close to the beach and boardwalk, and the rooms are cozy and clean with a lot of privacy. Breakfast is included if you book on their site and it’s always AMAZING and fresh. The whole staff is so nice and super accommodating, and the rooftop view of the boardwalk and of Ocean City is a must-visit. Definitely go here when you stay at the beach!!
Atlantis Inn in Ocean City, NJ is a beautiful property, meticulously maintained. Furnishings, artwork & linens are top of the line. Prior to booking there is no interaction with the innkeepers. Everything is done through email. Entry into the Inn is done through keypad as is entry into your room. Its is not a typical OCNJ warm & fuzzy bed & breakfast. Many rules & hidden fees are discovered after booking. Parking is 4 blocks away at $19.50 (with a reservation ) otherwise $24.50. This is for 24 hours, not length of your stay. The location is good. Just a couple of blocks to the beach & boardwalk. If you don't book on their website, breakfast is an
additional $35 (really?). Reservations had to be made by 6pm the previous night. We had a delicious breakfast 2 blocks away for half of that. There is city tax, state tax, and yes, a "resort fee" of $12.50. Also $5 for maid service . We booked for a rate of $279 only to find a charge of $344 at checkout and we didn't have breakfast. This is a different experience for "B&B people". No pleasant conversation with other guests and I missed that, also a cordial "Goodbye" as we happened to see the owner as we were leaving. Atlantis Inn is a different experience if you're a warm & fuzzy B&B person. Otherwise beautiful surroundings and a good location. Just know the added fees up front.
Atlantis Inn is a true gem in a beautiful city on the Jersey shore. The inn has been well preserved yet modernized. We stayed in the Barcelona suite. Spacious, comfortable and meticulous. The staff at the inn is fantastic. They are gracious and helpful but not intrusive. We had an issue with A/C not working and the management and staff got right on it and fixed it in no time.
The location is optimal. Overnight parking during peak is probably difficult but the municipal lot they use is a bit of a walk but not terrible.
Since this is an old property, stairs are steep and narrow but staff is helpful if you need it.
After 2 nights at the inn, I feel completely relaxed and refreshed!
We have stayed at the Inn multiple times before and have always had a lovely experience. Unfortunately that was not our experience this past weekend. We rented the Villa d'Portofino and quickly realized it was not only the same as the photos online, but it was not up to par with the other rooms at the Inn. Please be aware that this room is on the basement level and therefore has low ceilings, is dark and a musty smell. It also had not been properly cleaned as there were several cobwebs with bugs and dust accumulated in them. We decided we could not sleep in this room after finding a bug on the sheets of the bed. The owner responded quickly to our concerns and offered us rooms upstairs, however packing our things at 11:00 at night and walking in the rain to new rooms was less than ideal. Just want people to be aware that this specific room is not up to par with the rest of the inn and did not feel like a luxury experience as stated on the website.
