This contemporary whitewashed hotel is all about being close to Puerto Vallarta’s star attraction: the beach. There are thatched palapa-style daybeds on the sand, a pool with ocean views, and rooms with balconies offering splendid views of dazzling Banderas Bay. Wellness is also a focus, with holistic treatments in the spa and daily yoga sessions adding to the zen vibe. The casual La Ceiba and Corona restaurants are open for breakfast and lunch, while Murales offers a more romantic, formal vibe, with haute Mexican dishes courtesy of Executive Chef Tony Martinez.
In the Area
Not every Puerto Vallarta experience entails being on the water–check out the beautiful Sierra Madre mountain range on a horseback riding tour of the interior that includes visiting waterfalls and rivers. Back in town, scope out the famous gay-friendly nightlife on a bar-hopping tour or discover the scene on your own at Frida’s Kitchen, a popular bar and restaurant in the Zona Romantica known for its welcoming attitude and zesty margaritas.
How to Get There
We’ve been here several times and really love this hotel. The staff really treats us like royalty and they have become like family. This was the best vacation here yet.
The hotel is located very close the the boardwalk. So walking to restaurants, shopping and so forth is very easy.
We are currently staying at the Villa Premiere Hotel and I have mixed reviews. First off, we aren’t on the all-inclusive plan and we’re so glad! There are too many great places to eat in PV and we love exploring. The downside to not staying all-inclusive is they will nickel and dime you for everything! You’ll be signing checks/bills just for a bottle of water! Still, we prefer the European plan.
Pros: The hotel is very nice, clean, the food we’ve had here at the hotel is fantastic, and the staff is very friendly/accommodating.
Cons: I booked through their website, not Expedia or Priceline. I thought that was a more assured way to get the room we wanted. I booked a king bed room and received their email confirmation and everything. Upon checking in, they said they had us in a room with double beds. I showed them my email confirmation and she gave us an excuse about how no one is guaranteed room of choice and that they had no king beds available. But she went on to say If we would pay $250 USD more, we could get a king suite room. Long story short, we paid the extra money because we didn’t want separate beds. I shared this in a PV Facebook travel page and apparently this has happened to many other people coming to this hotel. We’ve also been approached multiple times by concierge at the hotel and been “pressured” to listen in and join this presentation they give in the mornings regarding offers and promotions their hotel offers. They say you’ll earn discounts on tours, get discounts on your next visit, etc.. But they need us to bring a credit card to the presentation. After denying them over and over, the concierge is starting to ignore us (which i guess is a good thing). Every time we tried to book a tour/excursion with their concierge we had to listen to them go on and on about how we’d save money if we’d do their presentation. Took up so much time just trying to book a tour! (We talked to a couple who ended up going to their presentation, and long story short they want you to pay $53,000 USD up front for a guaranteed 12 weeks of vacation with them.)
The beach view at the hotel is beautiful, but it is VERY rocky. Getting in and out of the water will tear your feet up! I wish I would have remembered to bring my water shoes! We strolled down south to Playa Los Muertos and enjoyed that beach much more. You can find plenty of beach clubs/restaurants that rent out beach chairs with food and drink service during the day.
We have visited Puerto Vallarta several times and had stayed at larger hotels a little further away from the Malecón. This time we looked for the closest hotel to the Malecón with a full service beach setting. The Villa Premiere caught my eye due the TripAdvisor reviews and seemed to check all the boxes. With such high expectations to live up to one is always a little skeptical but from when you first arrive until you depart everything exceeded my expectations. Service was attentive and prompt and the hotel is spotless. We did the European plan so I can not attest to the meals but poolside eating and drinking is very good and reasonably priced. I am happy we there is somewhat of a slow period because like many hotels beach chairs and pool side chairs were hard to come by at times and I am sure that during a busy period this would be very frustrating. Because the hotel also offers an all-inclusive plan many guests hardly leave property and with free drinks all day, free food, and a beautiful setting who could blame them but they do tend to camp out and reserve chairs even when not using them.My only complaint would be the workout room. It is dark, smells stale and has little air flow. We had two small problems with our room, a closet knob and the screen door being broken and both were fixed within hours. Balconies were not as private as I would have liked. Yes, I would return and yes I would recommend, It has a high rating and lives up to all the well earned stars.
I stayed at Villa Premiere for 6 nights in early December 2018 and I can say with confidence this is an excellent resort with impeccable customer service. I have traveled to over 50 All Inclusive resorts and few if any compare to this one for their hospitality. The food is excellent as well and staff is quick to satisfy any food request you may have even if it isn't always on the menu. The resort has a great location as it is less than a 10 minute walk to the Malecon. The beach and two pools are small and intimate but not too small for the property size. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned several times daily. The spa staff is friendly and the massages were quite relaxing. We were not asked repeatedly to do a presentation either which can be a problem at some properties. Overall this was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to go to Puerto Vallarta.
I would be remiss not to mention the people that made this stay amazing through their ultimate customer service:
These people went out of their way to make our stay excellent and I cannot thank them enough for their service. If you're looking for a great experience I can't recommend this resort enough.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The small size of the resort was really nice. Not too many people and that makes it easier for the staff to learn your name and needs. After only one day, the staff already knew what we liked to eat and drink. We rarely had to ask for anything. Food was great. We asked for two different soups that were no longer on the menu. They made them just for us, the very next day. We enjoyed the spa and pool area as well. We got pitched the time share only once when we arrived but were not asked again. Nice having to not worry about being hounded by staff to buy more things.
I would like to mention that the following staff members were particularly helpful to us every day of our stay:
