How to Get There
From the moment that we arrived, the staff was incredible! We had a room on the Club Level, with a gorgeous full ocean view, which was awesome when watching the colorful storms that would occur almost nightly. The room was spacious, and always impeccably cleaned daily. Our room included breakfast, as well as evening drinks and appetizers, yet apparently they were renovating the actual club room, so we were able to go downstairs to the main restaurant for this, which was very nice and convenient. The grounds, especially the numerous pools, were beautiful and very well maintained. The beach was nice, but not really swimable since the heavy rains tend to cause the water to run down from the mountains and empty into the ocean causing it to be pretty dirty looking. We did witness several absolutely breathtaking sunsets from the beach! I wish that I could recall the staff members names so that I could commend them individually, because they were all totally awesome! They helped us with recommendations and directions as far as things to see and do, as well as hooking us up with a driver who spoke decent English, whom we hired by the hour for the majority of the time that we were there, so that we could explore the surrounding areas. The wait staff in the restaurant, front desk, bellmen, housekeepers, etc....all excellent! . As others have mentioned, we were warmly greeted, coming and going and were told " welcome home"! It was very quiet and relaxing, which was exactly what we were looking for, and away from the city activity, but close enough via taxi when we wanted to go into town. Puerto Vallarta is a lovely city, with plenty of things to see and do and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and thanks to the staff for the surprise chocolate covered strawberries left in our room one evening! I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a laid back wonderful vacation!
My husband and I stayed in a Jr. Suite at the Westin in September. We really enjoyed it. The hotel is older, I called her an aging grand dame. This hotel was just sold to Marriot. This could be a good thing as they are planning a full renovation, however we worry that they will renovate all the beautiful charm out of the hotel. The grounds and the pool are lovely, the beach is small and quite which we enjoyed and the open spaces in the hotel are inviting and relaxing. Above everything else, the staff in amazing, I can't name them all but here are a few that stole our hearts. Margarito and Juan, Arnoldo and Ivan at the Palomar Restaurant and Cascada Bar always made us feel like family. Monica and the entire concierge team were helpful and thoughtful with great recommendations for activities and dining. The housekeeping staff was amazing our room was impeccable and the doormen and bell staff were fantastic. Whenever we returned from an outing they would open the car door and say welcome home. It felt like home. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing stay with amazing people.
This was a great place to land for a couple nights before heading north to Sayulita. It’s a cab ride away from PV central and Zona Romantica - too far to walk there, but a quick taxi ride away. The pools are big and well maintained with lush landscaping and iguanas making daily appearances. Staff is friendly and helpful but anything you buy at the hotel has a significant mark-up. To save some money on sundries, you can easily buy water, snacks, beer, etc at the Oxxo (convenience mart) right down the hill from the hotel - two minute walk, easily. The marina is lovely and there are some great restaurants in the area. The gym at this hotel is the best I’ve ever seen - even has a heavy bag!! But... never got around to working out while we were there. The micheladas prohibited that. 😎🍻Pros: luxury resort. Cons: a bit far from the charm of downtown and pretty bad “art” in the rooms. We got a good laugh out of the basket images though and Señor Iguana more than made up for it!
We had an amazing time at the Westin Resort and Spa. The hotel and their staff made our visit memorable. Everyone was nice and friendly and we felt very taken Care of.
The hotel grounds are beautiful! You can’t beat the beach and the the hotel swimming pool. Oh, and the most awesome part? Watching iguanas swim and hop from one palm tree to the next. Super awesome!
This place was very nice. Its like an all inclusive resort set up but its not. My wife and I went to this property because the room rate wad below $100 usd. This was off season so dont expect to see many other people. The marina is walking distance and there are shops as well as restaurants. The sun never came out and the rainfall was torrential. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a beautiful beach experience. The beach is not the best in the area.
