Average tourist hotel

High season bring lots of tourists, thus slow service in food outlets. Staff is friendly and helpful! Our room in the Club was lovely but there was some loud outside street noise sometimes in the night!

Quick trip

My wife and I were there Feb 5th -10th. Weather was great. Check is was not bad. Took about 30 minutes. We had a ground floor room. They asked us if we wanted to upgrade to a ocean view room for $30/day. We loved the location of our room and didn't want to spend our time traveling on elevators to a room that had no balcony just windows that opened to look out. We were only in our room to clean up and sleep. No reason to upgrade. Every staff member we met were very friendly. The whole place was very clean. our room was very nice with comfortable beds and a selection of pillow firmness's. Had a nice selection of liquor and wines for my wife and I. The breakfast buffet was very good with a nice selection of different types of foods that should work for just about anybody's palate. Only ate the lunch buffet the 1st day and it had a nice selection of food as well. was surprised to see sushi on the lunch buffet and it was tasty. We ate at the pool area the rest of the days there. There are items you can get at the pool that are not on the menu but seen other people eating a hollowed out avocado with tuna salad in it that was great. you just had to find the right waiter and ask for it. The 3 bartenders at the poolside bar were very attentive and mixed good drinks. Candido, Jorge and Oscar. Ask Candido to make you the bull it will knock your socks off. I had the Salmon at the Seafood restaurant that was amazing. My wife had the Mahi Mahi she said was a little dry. I switched plates with her and thought it was fine for me. I had the seafood soup and Sea Bass at Gaviotto's that was amazing and my wife had the octopus that she enjoyed as well.

The only issue we had was there were 5 couples in our group. 1 of the couples did not have the all inclusive band they opted for another option because their daughter was playing a College softball tournament across the street and they were not sure how long they would be at the resort each day. On Saturday My wife and I walked to town when we got back there was a big issue with our group about food that was ordered at the pool and the couple that was not wearing the all inclusive band ate some of the leftovers of the people in our group that had the all inclusive bands. the way I understood it there were 5 entrees ordered by 6 people and there was some left so the other group ate what was left. if any of that makes sense. when we showed up a manager came up to my wife and started telling her that we needed to come with her and we needed to pay for food we didn't order. We said we didn't know what she was talking about. Finally got it straightened out. the couple that ate some leftovers agreed to pay for some of the food they ate and we thought we were all good. it did put a real damper on the day and the bartenders and the waiters would not smile or talk to us after that and if we went to get more than one drink for a friend we had to point who it was for and they watched us deliver it.

All and all the experience was as good as any we have had at an all inclusive. Food was good, service was good, people were friendly, place was clean and the beds were comfortable.

i will say look at your bill when you get home because we have a $157 added to our card that we cannot find out what its for. my wife has called twice and has yet to get a hold of anybody to clear it up

Great place ............ but

Annual vacation for us and booked with wj vacations expected more especially at lunch time. If u r a person around the pool u get service.......however if u would like to upgrade ur lunch experience and sit at a table either in Francesco or the buffet u may as well forget about any service unless u r just there for the buffet u will not be offered a wine with ur meal. They r too busy delivering meals around the pool. We had to get our own wine from the bar. Service at lunch at either location is non existent.

Buganvilias is a great place to visit whether you’re an owner or not! But today I’d like to thank the many people who work there that make it the great experience it is! Thanks to our room attendants Maria and Norma in building B. We loved the little animals everyday and the special attention to our needs. To our happy hour pool stewards Marco and Sergio, thanks for all the extra special service! We love you! Everyone who works here goes out of their way to make you feel at home. See you all next year!
