With 433 rooms and a commanding location on the most perfect curve of Banderas Bay, this sprawling resort has plenty of presence. Rooms offer bright splashes of tropical color to punctuate the white and beige. Just steps from the hotel is a sublime beach lined with palm trees and offering all kinds of watersports and activities, from kite boarding to sea turtle release. The bar serves a great range of top-shelf tequilas and The Ohtli Spa is a highlight, offering a slew of treatments inspired by healing techniques and Shamanistic traditions of the Huichol Indians.
In the Area
In season, whale watching on the bay is a must: take a boat trip with a local outfit like Wildlife Connection for up-close encounters with these gentle giants. In the town itself, join an art walk on the famous Malecon boardwalk, with its oceanfront sculptures. Then fill up on Puerto Vallarta’s other claim to fame, its excellent gourmet scene, with world-class restaurants like boho Café des Artistes, overlooking The Malecon, or al fresco La Palapa, in the so-called “Romantic Zone” by Los Muertos Beach, serving jazzed-up local favorites like tortilla soup.
How to Get There
I stayed at The Marriott for a week in March and everything was perfect. The entire facility has been renovated since my last visit and it shows. The rooms are great, nice bathrooms and a large flat screen TV. The lobby is open and inviting. The pool service was outstanding. Our waiters Eduardo and Raul saw to our every need. They were amazing! I would recommend the Marriott to anyone coming to Puerto Vallarta!
This hotel is great! It is located close to the marina and a short cab ride to Old Puerto Vallarta. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was garden view, the hotel hosted a couple of corporate events during our stay and it seemed if you were in an ocean view room there was no way to avoid the noise. Garden room and balcony were quiet and peaceful. We did several excursions during our stay and the bellmen had our back every time!
So special shoutout to them: Ramon, Hugo, Ramiro, and Guillermo. Also, thank you to Brenda, she kept our room on point and even fixed my mess of jewelry.
Overall, highly recommended. We hope to return really soon ✌🏼❤️
This was our first stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta. The property is beautiful. The infinity pool is huge - never felt crowded. We chose an ocean view room on the 6th floor facing west - absolutely perfect - beautiful ocean views and we got the afternoon sun and evening sunsets. As expected, the room was kept spotless and the service was exceptional. We mainly dined and ordered poolside service from the beach / pool restaurant Las Casitas - excellent menu and food was always really, really good. We didn't want to leave and certainly want to return.
My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Marriott Resort in Puerto Vallarta. This is our fourth stay at this resort, and we hope to return next winter. We wish to personally thank all the wonderful staff at the Marriott who treat us like “family”. The conceige staff ...Denise, Marganta,& Viviana helped us extensively when we had cell phone issues, their assistance was above the call of duty. Simon chief conceige is always gracious and provides a wonderful example to his staff of customer service. We are always delighted to be greeted by Ernesto in the lobby prior to check in he welcomes us like family. Carlos was our wonderful breakfast server each morning with his team, his personal attention to our usual preferences was much appreciated. Also we are grateful to Warren for his attention to detail at the restaurant and pool area, we always enjoy his humor. All the bellmen deserve mention for their professional care with promoting the “front line” first impressions for the arrival and continued stay of guests.
Of special note Ramon was on duty when our friend needed medical attention, he provided transport for several visits to the nearby hospital. I also wish to include computer experts Soul and Juan who provided assistance with our computer. We feel like our needs are met , we find comfort and security at this resort. To conclude the Marriott Puerto Vallarta is our “home way from home”!
A little late on our review from our January trip, but if you read my past reviews, it’s just ditto. We stayed a week this past January for our California friends 50th birthday and their first time in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you to Simon who made their trip so special. From our first step on this beautiful property and to the last tears having to say goodbye our stay was the best and always gets better. Love seeing the same family year after year. Love and hugs to Maggie, Viviana, Victor, Warren (love you Warren and congratulations on your promotion) and Edger. But special thanks to David, the general manager for you amazing people. Need to stop gushing but Simon is the best concierge we have ever dealt with and we travel extensively. He well make your stay very special. The property is very clean and manicured. The best infinity pool bar none. The rooms are Mexico 5 star. Restaurants are also amazing. Las Casitas has the best breakfast and lunch with best views. All I can say is well done PV Marriott. We will be back this June for another week of luxurious pampered treatment.
Hasta Luego Puerto Vallarta Marriott mi familia. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
