How to Get There
In summary, one of the most perfect all-inclusive vacations my husband and I have ever been on. Most remarkable, the cleanliness and constant care and devotion of the staff whether it be in the main lobby, rooms, restaurants, buffet, beach, pool, bars etc. You would think that each employee has shares in the company or part owner. The à la carte restos were all fabulous - Italian, Mexican and Asian. Service impeccable. Air conditioning works great, room is cleaned or serviced at least twice a day. Never difficult to find someone for a question or for a request. I could go on and on with the positives. I would like to name a few with whom we dealt the most frequently but this in no way limits the performance of ALL Fiesta Americana employees, managers, etc.
Two of the cutest, always smiling, buffet hostesses Karla and Coral. All of the waiters were terrific. Tables always cleaned, water served and there to bring whatever was needed promptly. I was able to get a few names but again, this does not limit the performance of all of the buffet and resto staff. Alonzo, Jorge, Luis, Marco, Miguel, Jared and Jesus. The maids who I had time to get names were Mercedez and Karla. Thank you to Yosimar who was at the beach handing out towels and switching them as often as you like always with a friendly greeting and a smile. By the way, there is a free serve yourself book shelf at the towel stand for those of you who have finished their book and would like another free one. Two very kind beachside waiters, Ignacio Rosatto and Hugo must also be mentioned. Joaquin Amaya, Capitaine, was always present in and around reception area and restos to answer any questions or simply to chat. Very friendly man. Many thanks as well to Irma, the vacation consultant who is also always present in the lobby to help answer any questions.
If I had to mention just one negative experience which worked out well again thanks to the hotel concierge, it was the way we were made to feel by our Air Canada rep. He greeted us at the airport and directed us to our bus to hotel as expected. He asked us to be at an info session in the lobby the following morning and we did not attend (we never attend as suspect it is to encourage excursion sales). I had to go see the concierge a couple of times to try to obtain our time of departure on bus back to airport as it was not posted on the board where all other airlines had their pickup times and flights posted. The concierge had to call him a couple of times before he asked to meet us in the lobby the day before our departure. He then gave us our departure time and almost scolded me for not have come to the welcome briefing and told me this was why we were not told of our departure time. Then after having waited 10 min past our departure time, the hotel concierge who was alerted to our worries, paid a taxi for us in order to make sure we left in time. Hats off again to the hotel for assuming responsibility for Rafael's lack of professionalism.
Had a great time at Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta. One large pool with swim up pool bar. Many chairs around pool and on beach. The fish and the shrimp tacos at the beach restaurant were great. The food, the ocean breeze, and music made it a great lunch place. The vendors on the beach would walk back and forth trying to sell but not pushy. A shake of the head "no" and they left you alone. The mexican restaurant was excellent. We didn't try the asian fusion one. One night (Friday) was Chef's Grill outside by pool. The filet, prime rib, flank steak, well everything was so good. Got seconds and got full. The staff (Special shout out to Rafael - my name sake) were great, friendly, quick, etc. All the lobby workers, gift shop workers, and servers were great. Greeting you with a slight bow and hand over the heart. My wife is taking spanish at a community college and would speak some phrases in spanish to them. The would take the time to hear her and help her with requests.
The only negative for me was the pool music at night. Live bands with loud music until after 10 pm. I'm not really complaining since it says "Fiesta" in the hotel's name, but Could see some people complaining if they were trying to sleep.
Spent 10 days at the end of April here. Fantastic service as usual! From Miguel (Brad Pitt) at the pool...the best ever! To Rafi, Jessica, Hugo and Polo all great. Carolina at lobby bar for happy hour, assume! Food had many choices, nothing disappointed, fish tacos a must. Room was clean and worked well. This was our 5th of many to come!
Accommodations were clean and updated, all-inclusive food options were tasty and plentiful, pool was awesome for little kids with lots of shallow areas to explore.
Best of all the staff were always kind and helpful.
We were here from May 30 to June 6. Had been in Nuevo Vallarta the last two years and had visited Puerto briefly on those trips. We were on the 9th floor and this was a little more expensive and we had access to the Fiesta Club and the Sonne Club (adults only). The reason I did not give 5 stars is because the main pool was simply HOT; not warm, but hot. After being in the hot son, I stepped into the pool the first day and to me it felt it was hot enough to boil eggs in it. The water was very clean and inviting but also hot, hot, hot. Good thing we had signed up for the Sonne Club--the pool up there was quite small but was very refreshing and the service up there was simply fantastic. Our favorites there were Rafael ("paharo"), Carlos ("Charlie") and Beatriz. Food up there was fantastic and so were the drinks. After a day, they knew your name and what you wanted to drink and were like family to you. My favorite servers for the last 20 or 30 years. Our room was comfortable with a view of the pool and the beach. The restaurants were all good and we did not choose a favorite--no reason for it. Good menu choices in all of them. We really enjoyed our stay. Check in and check out was fast and smooth, as was everything else at the FA. Recommend it to anyone.
