Expect sunny, traditional Mexican décor–terracotta floors, bright pops of yellow, and cheerful ceramic sculptures by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. Dining is either casual Mexican-inspired cuisine served on a terrace by a tranquil koi pond, or Asian-influenced dishes overlooking the Pacific Ocean. (There’s also a decadent swim-up pool bar, with endless cocktails included in the room rate.) The hotel is located minutes from several world-class golf courses.
In the Area
Hit the fairway your way, whether at the Joe Finger-designed Marina Vallarta Golf Course, with its magnificent bayside setting and mountain backdrop, or the stunning Spanish Colonial-style Vista Vallarta course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. If putting isn’t your thing, hit the much-loved Old Farmer’s Market in downtown Puerto Vallarta, where you can browse everything from Mexican chocolate to artisanal cheeses and home-made salsas.
How to Get There
If you ever plan on getting married in Puerto Vallarta, “Casa Velas” is the place! And with no introduction needed... Andrea is the BEST wedding coordinator out there!! From the moment my husband and I met her, we knew she was the perfect person to create and execute our ceremony! She listened to exactly what we envisioned and went beyond our expectations. One thing I can tell you about Andrea is that she is passionate about her job and really cares about your wedding. We couldn’t have done it without her, thank you Andrea!
My husband and I received, and continue to receive, compliments about the entire day about the food (thanks to Chef Alejandro) the photographer (Dream Art, Maryluz), flowers, venue organization (Casa Velas) and all the details.
Once again thank you Andrea and everyone at Casa Velas for an absolutely amazing wedding and time!
We will see you next year!
Mrs. & Mr. Soto
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to feel like you are royalty, well then I would say have your wedding at Casa Velas! This quaint adults-only resort is really beautiful and was the perfect place to celebrate our special day. They care so much about the appearance of their resort that if you look closely you will notice that they are always doing work to improve its aesthetics (e.g. landscaping the beautiful gardens and constantly maintaining the paint work to keep the resort looking like new). Their staff are so friendly, professional and truly care about making sure that you have an incredible time while staying there. It is extremely noticeable that they staff take so much pride in their craft - from making sure the towels that are laid out by the pool are perfectly rolled up to making sure that your drinks that you order are exactly the way you want them. They seem so happy to greet you when they see you and their faces light up when they know that you are appreciative of the hard work they have put in to make you happy and exceed your expectations.
I don't know if this is normal, but Casa Velas' staff would turn down our room twice a day and each time they would leave some fancy looking handmade treats on the table for our enjoyment - beautifully presented and really tasty! The food is delicious at Casa Velas (love the breakfast) - it is out of this world and you don't have to stick to the menu, they will try accommodate whatever food request you might have - they have a very skilled chef.
The spa could not be better value for money! It is a beautiful spa and they offer many different treatments for guests - We did a couples massage and facial and felt amazing afterwards.
Our wedding was a dream come true all thanks to our wedding planners, Andrea Delgadillo and Andrea Garza. We worked with them closely throughout 2018 before the big day as they helped achieve our vision for the ceremony and reception party and within budget. They were meticulous with every detail and well organized which resulted in a magical night that all our guests including everyone at the resort are still discussing days later. We could not have planned this beautiful wedding without the professionalism and passion of their craft of the Casa Velas' staff as well as our planners, Andrea Delgadillo and Andrea Garza, and the amazing resort manager, Geraldine Zaragoza. We left the resort in tears as they became family to us throughout this journey.
We formed lasting relationships with everyone and appreciate everything from Casa Velas!
Fredy - The best barman in the whole world! Every drink you crafted for us tasted delicious - it was great knowing that you would be at the swim up bar everyday. We also really appreciate you giving up your day off to work in the bar for our wedding - especially since you did it because you wanted to be there for us! :)
Gerardo ("Francisco") - You have a beautiful voice and we love your happy nature! Thank you so much for singing at our wedding - you got the after party started! Also, thanks for organizing the soccer ball for us so we could play on the beach. Next time we will go with you to play on the beach that you told us about.
Miguel - You were so helpful with all your recommendations and helping us with organizing the various activities we wanted to do like organizing golf and dinner reservations, etc. You are such a warm friendly person and we are so glad that we got to meet you.
Benny - The signature cocktail that you made for our wedding guests was simply perfect - there is a reason why it ran out! All our guests also loved the amazing little animals that you made with toothpicks and wine corks - very creative. You were amazing at keeping the drinks flowing and the party going, thank you!
Cesar - The man of the house always looking sharp with his fancy fedora! How could we not feel welcome at Casa Velas with you meeting us at the front door every day - you are awesome!
WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Our family, (mostly wife and daughter), spent several months working with the staff at Casa Velas planning a destination wedding for 45-50 people. It was an event that required much preparation and attention to detail. Every step along the way the staff at Casa Velas was supportive and enthusiastic. As a result, the wedding is still being talked about by the guests six days later and will be for some time. It was truly a matter of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.
The venue is first class and easy to enjoy as it is not huge and expansive. This was important as it allowed guests to return to their room quickly and easily as needed. The wedding and reception used three separate areas creating a different ambiance at a each stage of the celebration. Guests were greeted with wine and cheese in the botanical garden for the service and exchange of vows. A brief cocktail party followed on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool and deck which would host the sit down dinner and dance reception. All three phases went off without a hitch thanks to the professionalism of the wedding planner and the team she assembled.
During the days before and after the wedding, guests and family were able to enjoy the private beach club, golf course and different activities in and around Puerto Vallarta. Casa Velas staff was always ready and available to assist with reservations or transportation.
Not planning a wedding? I recommend getting away to this lovely resort for great food, service and relaxation. Casa Velas will always have a special place in our hearts because of the wedding but we would go back as guests regardless. When we find a place we like we try to return. And it's hard not to like a place where the staff is continually saying "my pleasure" with sincerity and telling you that Casa Velas is your home while you are there.
Was there in January and just got back from a return trip. While I expected the same, we experienced a much different resort. Went to the beach club on Friday and was not once asked for a drink or food order. Went to the bar and asked for a banana daiquiri-no bananas, How about a strawberry daiquiri? No, we have no strawberries. Breakfast orders were consistently not fulfilled. My wife had $140 stolen from her purse in our room.
I must say that many of the servers are very pleasant and try very hard. With that being said, my opinion is this resort is very overpriced.
What a serendipitous find ! Its like having your own oasis! The gates opened and paradise was unleashed - calming koi and turtle ponds and fountains , lush tropical landscape and flowers your eyes can endlessly feast on , welcoming peacocks grazing gracefully . Secluded , exclusive and safe . Personal attention to details from unobtrussive helpful smiling staff . Understated elegance yet comfortable . Bravo to the cuisine , ambiance and service at Emiliano’s Restaurant . This is a hidden gem ... Gracias !
