Boutique all-inclusive with an Asian-inspired beachfront restaurant, overlooking magnificent Banderas Bay

The Lowdown

This 80-room all inclusive has the feel of a secluded estate, with lush gardens, a private beach club, and golfing facilities within view. Expect sunny, traditional Mexican décor–terracotta floors, bright pops of yellow, and cheerful ceramic sculptures by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. Dining is either casual Mexican-inspired cuisine served on a terrace by a tranquil koi pond, or Asian-influenced dishes overlooking the Pacific Ocean. (There’s also a decadent swim-up pool bar, with endless cocktails included in the room rate.) The hotel is located minutes from several world-class golf courses.

In the Area

Hit the fairway your way, whether at the Joe Finger-designed Marina Vallarta Golf Course, with its magnificent bayside setting and mountain backdrop, or the stunning Spanish Colonial-style Vista Vallarta course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. If putting isn’t your thing, hit the much-loved Old Farmer’s Market in downtown Puerto Vallarta, where you can browse everything from Mexican chocolate to artisanal cheeses and home-made salsas.

A lovely boutique hotel. I have all inclusived over a dozen times and this place is tied for first place (Marival residence is also great but more expensive). Food is fantastic. Had foie gras as an appetizer one evening. We missed lobster night. Every meal is a la carte although there is a breakfast buffet if you are in a rush. Fantastic service. All the drinks are delivered by a server. If you order a beer by the pool it comes with its own

A little piece of heaven...

Casa Velas is a magical destination. It is charming, elegant and peaceful.
The warmth and attentiveness of the staff is unmatched. There are many activities and the beach looks like it is right out of a movie set. So you could be as active as you like or just kick back and take it all in. The "adults only" policy and the boutique setting make this the perfect escape destination. The food is excellent. The peacocks roaming freely around the property put the ambience over the top. And no, I was not paid to write this!

Private Tropical Oasis

I stayed here in Casa Velas in March as part of a business offsite. I was happily surprised on how nice was the property. It literally cant be more than 5 minutes from the airport located between the Marina, the golf course and the strip of properties lining the beach. I thought I would be disappointed on no beach access, but the hotel provides free shuttle (2minute ride) to the Casa Velas club with beach and pool (apart of pool on main hotel) and a very good restaurant overlooking the beach. I have stayed in Vallarta before and this beach is by far the winner...large sand area, with no rocks. You will find spending your time here and shuttling back to main property.

As for the hotel, very delightful Hacienda like property. The villas are large with charming architectural features like arches. The bathroom is just beautiful. And the tropical greenery, gardens and native animals in the property add to the feeling of tropical oasis where you can unwind and relax.

The downstairs villas have small private pools while upstairs villas (like mine) had private balconies with seating overlooking the foliage.

As for location, I prefer the Marina location for access to several restaurants, Marina, and beach. You can take a shuttle or taxi to the city center.

In sum, marvelous property to enjoy Vallarta’s great weather, and spend a relaxing and very private stay.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Velas--2nd year in a row and plan to return next year.
The staff is superb, the food incredible, the accommodations terrific. This is an extremely well-managed resort!

An amazing vacation you will not regret

My husband and I came here and stayed for 6 nights. Every minute we were there was pure joy. The grounds, staff, food, and drinks were absolutely amazing. The resort is small and perfect for a couples vacation. We would recommend this to anyone whose looking for an amazing experience from the monument you check in until you leave. I can't say enough good things.
