What’s in the air at Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa Vallarta? Maybe it’s the warmth of the staff, a cheerful and friendly crew that offers welcome perks, including a cocktail. Maybe it’s that saltwater taste: The hotel is situated right on the Mexican Pacific’s Banderas Bay. Whatever it is, you’ll find yourself breathing easier here at this boutique hotel, but maybe that’s just because the vibe is so relaxed.
Here at Bel Air, you can spend your time however you darn well please, whether that means sampling the restaurants’ Mexican-fusion cuisine or sushi platters, or lounging by the pool. With the beach right outside, there’s ample space to soak up the sun, and come dusk, you can watch it set, with a complimentary glass of wine. The staff’s thoughtfulness continues right up until bedtime, when you’ll return to your abode to find a petit four on your pillow. So breathe it all in, before you go ahead and exhale.
The most thrilling detail of your Standard room will be the balcony, but the flat-screen TV isn’t so bad, either. You’ll spend most of your stay by the pool or beach, though – so after a good night’s sleep, get yourself charged up for a day outdoors with a cup of joe from your coffee-and-tea kit.
When hunger strikes, you won’t have to stray far to find a satisfying bite to eat. Bel Air’s restaurants number five in total, including a designated snack bar; the à la carte cuisine ranges from Asian to Mexican fusion. Room service is also available, 24 hours a day.
If you’re feeling especially lazy, stop by the namesake spa. You’ll be able to opt for a soothing treatment and emerge renewed and refreshed for another oh-so-tiring round of sunbathing and beach bumming.
Nuevo Vallarta is a Mexican resort community on the sands of Banderas Bay, off the Mexican Pacific. You’ll have ample space to splay out and get your vitamin D, whether by the pool or on the beach. For a bit of an adrenaline rush, try a water-sporting excursion, through one of the area suppliers. Golfers will also enjoy the many courses available in the area.
How to Get There
This resort is trying to convert from a timeshare owned hotel to a all inclusive resort. They are in the process of updating the hotel portion of the resort. Unfortunately, the timeshare portion is in disrepair.
Heard lots about Puerto Vallarta and looked forward to the trip. Overall the resort was disappointing. Food overall was poor to average at best. Beach weddings were loud if you went to bed early. Maybe nicer when their renovations are complete?
