How to Get There
If you read an earlier review from me of The 49'er Hotel, I was very upset about no information about the restrictive street parking laws in the Town of Jackson. WELL, at the WORT, when you get your key, the nice "folder" it comes has the parking rules printed on the right hand side so not only are you AWARE of them, you can plan accordingly. That wasn't the best thing about the hotel as it is a top notch, classy establishment. But I was very impressed and thankful for the parking tips. The people at the 49'er just couldn't understand after $250 in fines and towing why I was upset there wasn't something posted in the room or the fact that no one ever MENTIONED the restrictive parking!
We spent 3 nights at the Wort in a ADA accessible room for our first visit to Jackson. The room was spacious, close to the lobby, had a roll-in shower and high beds (made easier by small stool the hotel provided). We enjoyed the decor and history of the hotel with western art, silver dollar bar, old photographs of Jackson and overall ambiance. The restaurant/bar was open for lunch and dinner which is convenient since my husband uses a scooter, plus the prices were quite reasonable and food good. All staff were helpful and made a handicapped visitor feel welcome. Access via the restaurant entrance to handicapped street parking space was a little tricky, but it all worked out. Steve, the maintenance guy, even carried in our bags for us when we arrived. Grand Teton National Park is close by with spectacular views of the mountains. We will stay at the Wort Hotel if we ever have the good fortune to return to Jackson.
We recently stayed at The Wort on our way to and from Yellowstone. Having stayed here a number of times it is always great to see that it maintains its high quality service. The rooms are beautiful as always, staff very friendly and helpful and the beds are so comfortable, the most comfortable we had on our 5 week stay in USA. This character filled Hotel just says 'Wyoming' to us. It is so close to everything and the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill is a great venue to have a meal and relax after a long flight. Walking through the door of The Wort is like coming home. Always sad to leave but we will be back.
I’m so very glad we stayed at the Wort Hotel to start off our Yellowstone visit! It is a beautiful historic hotel centrally located and only a half block from the town square. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. We had breakfast each morning in the silver dollar restaurant because it was so good! We even had dessert and after dinner drinks in the saloon next door which was lively and fun.
You won’t go wrong with this hotel!
The Wort Hotel is THE place to stay in Jackson. The rooms are well-appointed and very clean as are the common areas. We had a great time st the Silver Dollar Bar on Tuesday night - a real fun bar with great music. The concierge was very helpful in arranging a fabulous fly-fishing trip with Jake of Mangis Guide Service and a scenic flight of the Tetons out of Jackson AIrport. We walked to Cowboy Coffee for breakfasts, around the town square for shopping, to Snake River Brewery, and saw a concert at the art center. Then there was the fabulous national parks - Grand Teton and Yellowstone - both within easy driving distance. The Wort Hotel is the perfect spot to stay!
