The Lowdown

Pull up at this historic Apulian inn and you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise: made up of a collection of conical trullos (think traditional dry stone huts), and surrounded by idyllic olive groves and vineyards, it very nearly pops right out of a fairytale. Dating back to between 1780 and 1820, each hut has been beautifully transformed into a luxurious, five-star suite and named after a different grape variety, for a stay that’s as authentic and locally-inspired as it is historical.
Tuck into fine Apulian cuisine in the restaurant, with high standards of service upheld throughout your stay. Your annual dose of Vitamin D can be taken by the side of the contemporary pool or on a lounger on the sandy beach. And if bubbling away in the Jacuzzi or relaxing in the Turkish bath sound too low key, there’s little chance of finding yourself at a loose end around here – choose from activities such as cooking classes, painting, yoga or mountain biking, or spoil yourself with a tour of the region, to taste olive oil that’s good enough to drink and wines held in high regard by the country’s top vintners.

A Slice of Heaven

A lovely characterful hotel situated in the peaceful and beautiful countryside near Locorotondo. The rooms, the grounds and the pool are all wonderful and very well maintained. The restaurant offered a good menu that changed every day or so and the staff were all fantastic, helpful and professional but without being intrusive. A perfect base for exploring Puglia or for just relaxing by the pool. There are also some lovely country walks from the hotel, but a car hire is essential for anything else.

Wonderful Experience in Trulo house

We had our first visit in Apulia and I can say that we really enjoyed everything. We arrived and we had a fantastic welcome from Emiliano who gave us all the information that we needed. We stayed in a Trulo suite. What can I say? Fantastic, Wonderful, no words could explain my happiness. The Restaurant inside is fantastic too where the Maitre Giusepe was so kind with us. Thanks to the Manager Alessandro, so professional and helpful for us, he gave us a big hand for everything from our checkin to our said checkout. A particular mention to the owner who I’d like to say BRAVO for all your staff. We decide that we will come become so soon, because Palmeto stays always in our hearts. Thank you

Lovely hotel in beautifully secluded spot

Hotel beautifully presented, in the heart of 'trulli' country, and staff could not be more welcoming. The rooms have been sympathetically converted to be comfortable and provide all the modern amenities you could need. Car essential to explore the area, and although we could not fault the breakfasts, the dinner menu was not extensive, but we enjoyed the meals we ate in the restaurant. Very warm welcome and staff always helpful and friendly.
