Impeccably elegant fashion plate with a buzzy restaurant, spa and bar on trend with its chic Milano location
So much of what the Bulgari brand stands for — elegant design, clean lines, precious materials — is incorporated into its first Bulgari Hotel in Milano. Black Zimbabwe granite adorn interiors while rich Burmese teak decks fan out into the garden. The luxurious design story continues in the hotel's subterranean spa, which glows almost gold when warm light hits the yellow Vicenza stonework.
Bed and Bath
Warm monochromatic linens and supple black couches complement the bleached-oak paneling and floors in each room, while large standing mirrors and black four-poster beds are show pieces. In keeping with the hotel's opulent design, garden-facing bathrooms are luxuriant, dressed in Navona travertine and outfitted with black granite bathtubs.
Bulgari's il Ristorante and il Bar are two of the hotel's greatest assets. It's not just because Chef Andrea Ferrero's risotto Milanese or veal filet rise to high art (although it helps), but also because the room in which guests enjoy them is itself a showstopper. Picture a large lenticular ceiling that hovers over an oval room awash in warm honey-colored wood, black leather and glass windows that let in ample natural light and expansive views of the garden. Work on your own glow in the spa, which has a cocoon-like, golden-tiled pool and a modern hammam.
In the Area
Hotel Bulgari occupies a piece of prime Milano real estate near some of the city's most riveting cultural institutions, like La Scala opera house, Accademia di Brera, and the beautiful botanical gardens. Also in the area are two of Milano's famous shopping streets, Via della Spiga and Via Montenapoleone, both brimming with big-name labels like Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Armani.
