How to Get There
Beautiful hotel located on Piazza Principe. Just next to a train station. Stayed there just over night. Did not try restaurant nor breakfast. They are connected to hotel savoia where bar lounge is just spectacular. 5 star service beautiful rooms, nice bathroom.
This is a lovely, European-style hotel, complete with creaky wooden elevator. I had room 533 and, even though it is a double room, it is better for one person because of size. It is on the top floor and has a french balcony and view of the train stations ornate neoclassical facade and if you know where to look, the statue of Columbus. There are nice bathroom amenities as well as a coffee/tea set up and one bottle of complimentary water. Wi-fi is stable and excellent.
Housekeeping is excellent and reception staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast with lots of protein and you can ask the attendant for a espresso or capucchino.
I happened to peek in room 535 when it was being cleaned in between guests and it is a large corner room (twice the size of 533) with a wrap-around french balcony and nicer furnishings This would be the room to request.
Via Arsenale Di Terra (street) has everything you would want: a pharmacy (next door), restaurants, kebab places, mini-marts, gelato and two Chinese-run stores that have just about anything you have forgotten to pack. At the one on the other side of the street from the hotel they even shortened jeans for me for 3 euro.
Across the street (to the right of the post office) is a ramp to enter the medieval streets of the old city which is worth exploring. Just remember that this is a port city and some areas are a bit gritty.
The hotel is located in old building, which was modernized. All rooms are well decorated, have big TV, good bath or shower, some small rooms even have additional couch. Very like the hotel, personnel and location.
