A boutique seaside hotel recommended by Condé Nast Traveller – includes a bottle of wine for longer stays

The Lowdown

Follow in the footsteps of the illustrious young Queen Victoria with a stay at Albion House – a splendid Georgian landmark perched atop Ramsgate’s East Cliff. With commanding views over the Royal Harbour, Bursting with more than 200 years of history, the property was recently restored to its former Regency glory and retains many original features – from its intricate cornices to its grand sash windows.
Take sumptuous afternoon tea, sip a coffee or enjoy something stronger in the high-ceilinged Town Bar, where dark olive walls set off framed artworks with striking effect. The light-filled dining rooms make the perfect setting for sampling some of the region’s famous seafood. Those looking for a peaceful getaway will find Albion House an excellent and stylish choice – if you needed any more proof of that, this hideaway was recommended by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the best hotels for a British weekend break and it’s now positioned as Ramsgate’s number one hotel on TripAdvisor.

A chic and romantic hotel nestled on the seafront

Can’t fault this hotel, what a fantastic experience for myself, husband and teen. We stayed just two nights and it was luxury I wasn’t expecting.

We were welcomed by Niki who was extremely attentive giving an unrivalled customer service experience; nothing was too much trouble. She seemed to read our minds for every need; a new pot of tea before we ask, remembered our previous orders the next day asking if we’d like another. Felt like the only guest!

The rooms were of a very high quality. Bed linen was fit for a queen, bathroom was huge, teabags were top shelf, and I’m fussy.

Breakfast was extremely high quality, a good mix of healthy; smashed avocado, spinach with pesto, salmon and capers, or a full English for the bigger appetite. Something for everyone in the family.

The lounge and restaurant/bar was special blend of modern/old with that dark and royal theme.

Can’t recommend enough. Top choice for a break by the sea. ❤️

Charming hotel - highly recommended

Stayed for a couple of nights - clean and very comfortable room - staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Good food and drinks in the restaurant and plenty of alternatives a short walk away. Corner suite on the first floor is particularly good.

We had a 2 night B & B stay at this delightful Boutique Hotel. No expense has been spared in the furnishings and wonderful comfortable Bed in our room. Our Breakfast was fantastic with lots of options I chose the large Townley full English option which was cooked to perfection which I could not finish but had the smaller option the next day which I managed to finish.
We will certainly be returning in the future thanks to all the friendly staff that made us feel so welcome.
