The Lowdown

Follow in the footsteps of the illustrious young Queen Victoria with a stay at Albion House – a splendid Georgian landmark perched atop Ramsgate’s East Cliff. With commanding views over the Royal Harbour, Bursting with more than 200 years of history, the property was recently restored to its former Regency glory and retains many original features – from its intricate cornices to its grand sash windows.
Take sumptuous afternoon tea, sip a coffee or enjoy something stronger in the high-ceilinged Town Bar, where dark olive walls set off framed artworks with striking effect. The light-filled dining rooms make the perfect setting for sampling some of the region’s famous seafood. Those looking for a peaceful getaway will find Albion House an excellent and stylish choice – if you needed any more proof of that, this hideaway was recommended by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the best hotels for a British weekend break and it’s now positioned as Ramsgate’s number one hotel on TripAdvisor.

Company Offsite

We needed a venue within 1.5 hours from London for a 2 day business meeting for a small team of 7 and after the reviews on the site Albion House was selected. Rather than being relegated to a basement conference room as others might have, Albion House gave us over their lounge area for the 2 days which is flooded with light and views of the sea and plenty of room for us to move around.
The hospitality team looked after us well ensuring refreshments were replenished as requested and lunches were ready promptly to allow agendas to be stuck to.
The bedrooms were comfortable and clean with a nice supply of teas and coffee; the only complaint being a couple of rooms too hot on arrival but that was soon resolved.
We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch and everyone enjoyed their food, choices enough to satisfy most dietary requirements.
A stress-free stay, would recommend.

A memorable stay!

My husband’s birthday weekend- I am SO thrilled that I chose The Albion House Hotel to celebrate. We had the most delicious meal on the Friday night. The hostess provided two glasses of Prosecco to kick off the evening and a cheese platter at the end with a personalised birthday message to him. Breakfasts were superb, served in the beautiful dining room. We stayed in the King sized sea view room which didn’t disappoint. We could look out to to the ocean from our bed (which was exceptionally comfortable)! The cocktails are worth a mention too- the Rhubarb Rollins was particularly good. The hotel is a stones throw from the beach and each morning we got up and walked along the coast- total bliss! Thank you for such a memorable stay, Albion House!

Lovely stay !

We stayed here to celebrate a special occasion and loved every minute of it. Beautiful hotel, built in 1792 on the top of a hill with panoramic views of Ramsgate’s Royal Harbour and the sea. We stayed in room 7, which is on the corner of the building, with windows on two sides. Some of the furniture was distressed and worn, which put me off at first (see pictures), but once I embraced it and thought of the furnishings as “shabby chic”, I felt cozy and comfortable. Bed is plush and high end, and we slept well. Bathroom is large, with a separate bathtub and shower. The bathtub is double ended and huge. Included breakfast was served in an elegant dining room on the ground floor, served by a professional and friendly waitress. Food was delicious! The owner was in attendance and was a very interesting conversationalist, and very welcoming to us. We will return.
