How to Get There
Totally disappointed with this hotel. Firstly the check in process was lengthy and disorganised, staff were rude and unhelpful. The bed was comfortable however there was a spotlight that connected to a motion sensor that prevented me from getting any sleep. We were rudely awaken at 9.50am by a member of staff walking into the room unannounced. When I made a complaint to the receptionist her reply was that we should have reported this. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night in this hotel. If you need somewhere to sleep in Sliema avoid this hotel
I booked for a week in this Hotel for August 2018, big mistake. I liked the look of the photos online, it had everything going for it (I thought). The in house restaurant - Grill- on my first night of arrival I started to eat the barbecued prawns and literally had to spit the prawn out of my mouth. I felt so embarrassed. I returned to the buffet to get other food and I must say the food was a total disappointment. Prawns were inedible. I did complain to the waiter and he went and got the chef, they made a great fuss and cooked me some other prawns in the kitchen which were edible but still quite bad in that they were definitely not fresh and perhaps in the freezer for too long.
Over the period of seven days and nights, I was bitten by fleas in the bar area. The upholstery there is totally thread bare and when I first sat down on a fabric chair closest to the bar I was bitten on the bottom. I was too embarrassed to complain later when I realised it was a flea bite. The rooms were ok could have been better for five star. The sink in the bathroom blocked up one morning but they did fix it on the same day. I had to ask the housekeeper to remove the mat in the room as it was dirty. The valance on the bed looked worse for wear also. The wardrobes must have been designed for dwarfs very awkward and low level. I had a massage in the Spa and even that was ordinary. The only good thing about this hotel was the staff. I received an email after my survey was reviewed and they offered me a discount next time I stay at the hotel. Sorry but this does not cut it for me. This place advertises they are five star when in fact the quality of this hotel is definitely three star. The biggest disappointment of all was the food. No where near what you would expect of a five start hotel. The roof top pool is also extremely small during the high season you do not want to go in as it is overcrowded with kids and adults. Take my advise and give this Palace a miss.
If you want to be treated like royalty and want to stay in a high class hotel than AX the Palace Hotel is the place to be!! Top notch food, amazing cleanliness and beautiful hotel, but most of all service with a smile from all the staff!! I truly felt like royalty!! highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back soon ❤❤ Thank you for the wonderful break ☺
Well we chose this hotel hoping to have a nice and relaxing time but to our big disappointment it was unpleasant and uncomfortable the thing that spoiled our vacation. In the morning until late afternoon continuous noise of maintenance work and in the evening loud party music making us unable to relax and sleep. That night we were obliged to wait for the party to end to be able to sleep. That is really ridiculous!!! The management cares more about the party than about its clients !
There is no respect and it seems that the management cares only about making money. As I was bothered a lot by the noise I tried to call the reception several times and all they said was that it would soon finish but it went on and on even more loudly.By the way , I tried for several times to get connected with the reception but there was No Answer so I had to take the lift down to the reception to complain about it and I was told it would finish by midnight but the party continued further than midnight.
I would like to advise people not book their stay or vacation in this (((((FIVE STAR )))) hotel because I have had a very bad experience with it
It is by no means a Five Star Hotel !
I advise the readers of this comment NOT to book a vacation here!
Simply that word describes the place, the suite we had was both spacious and beautiful and we got a sea view balcony.
From arrival to departure the staff were brilliant and if I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
We booked a five day break for my partners 40th, it was bed and breakfast.
Location wise, Sliema sea front was a short walk away, there is a shop and bar just a few yards up the road too.
Food wise, we had a cracking buffet breakfast daily which was a mix of continental and full english, you could request freshly cooked omelettes which we did, expertly cooked to taste.
We used the indoor spa facilities and found them to be well maintained and despite it being December we braved the roof top unheated outdoor pool daily which offered a stunning view and sun trap but the water was freezing.
Cannot wait to go back
