How to Get There
Nice and quiet hotel in the middle of Sliema. Good breakfast and large rooms and comfortable beds. Short distance to the ferries to Valletta. Did not use the restaurants but there is two restaurant in the hotel. Nothing really to complain about the hotel maybe the late arrival of daily housekeeping (round 4pm. or later) is a small minus.
Few days in Malta made perfect by our stay at AX The Palace. Spacious room with every convenience, great choice of dining, had a marvellous meal at TemptAsian, certainly not to be forgotten. Would love to come back in the summer to make full use of the wonderful facilities. The location is great to access the ferries to Valletta, and a walk along the waterfront. Great service, we will be back.
Our third time to Malta but the first time to Sliema so we were very happy to have booked what turned out to be a very stylish hotel positioned up the hill from Sliema waterfront and also with easy access down to the promenade walk along to St Juliens Bay( only discovered this on the last day...drat!)...we had been in contact prior to coming as we had certain requests regarding room placement which were met but we ultimately asked if we could be accounted in a room with a better view..which was accomodated at a supplement...our fifth floor room (546) had 200 degree view of the sea, city and Valletta across the bay ,flooded with sunlight in the morning, and very modern designs and fitments The bed was super soft and the shower/ bath/ wand shower ultimately mastered!..thanks to Mr Moul Hajjar and Stefan on the desk for your assistance.
Food was taken in the Tabloid restaurant for breakfast and evenings on buffet styles and the quality and presentation was excellent The talk of the Town Cafe ,inside and outside, was good for coffee, 2 for 1 cocktails between 6 and 7pm, and also a la carter evening meals. We looked around but did not use the pool or spa or indoor pool which appeared in good order
We were relocated for our evening meals for two nights( due to low occupancy perhaps in the hotel?) to use either Talk of the Town or the super swanky Temptasian restaurant on the 9th floor.. Temptasian was so unimpressive I will review it separately.
We would recommend the hotel and use it again...despite the experience in Temptasian, which is generally a separate, pay separate experience which I would not have taken up if the hotel hadn't given us the free option to eat there...a shame it went wrong but the Palace was otherwise great for us
Had an amazing stay at the Palace Hotel. Brilliant location in Sliema, a lovely town with easy walking distance (albeit hilly) to two coastlines - loads of restaurants, bars and shopping.
The hotel had fantastic facilities, an amazing indoor and outdoor pool, staff were so helpful and friendly too.
The food was decent, only stayed for breakfasts and had dinner out every night.
The room we stayed in was huge! With a lovely balcony to have coffee on.
I would 100% stay again, I have recommended this hotel to friends and colleagues and they agree it was perfect!
The Palace is a lovely hotel although maybe should be a 4 Star. The food and service was fantastic with so much choice. All staff were excellent & so friendly - we definitely felt looked after. The cocktail bar was lovely although it was closing around 11.30pm.
The hotel is in a great location & only a few minutes walk to the waterfront. Turn right for the ferries & boat trips or left for a lovely walk to St Julien's Bay with lovely bars & restaurants.
Our room was very clean & spacious although we struggled with the fact that we couldn't see the outside world (the window looked into the atrium).
The rooftop swimming pool was gorgeous although too cold in March. We were lucky enough to get some warm weather & had an afternoon sunbathing but had no idea where to get towels from & missed there being nowhere to get a drink by the pool (the pool bar is seasonal).
This was out first time in Malta & we were really glad that we chose to stay at The Palace.
