Great location in Paradise
Reviewed 2 days ago

The Wyndham is situated in a great location on the Kona side of the Big Island. Walking distance to the city and near beaches and local sites. A car is a necessity! Most units have little or no view of the ocean across the street but the tropical atmosphere is super. Only the morning island orientation (where they have a soft sell for excursions) and the Tuesday afternoon hula, variety show are worthy activities; and the 2 pools are small with no concessions but a comfortable lounger is always available. But the best thing about this resort is their staff; they can't do enough for you and withion a quick timeframe. Now that we have the Big Island and Maui and Kauai as our favorites, we are not sure where our next Hawaii trip will be to. One thing for certain though, if we choosed the Big Island we will stay at the Wyndham Kona Resort.

Reception took forever

Our room wasn't ready, and although they offered us another, we opted to wait. (We liked the room and would be staying for 5 nights.) They said that they would inform us when the room was ready -- they never did! Bad on them! Finally, we check on the room ourselves and saw it was ready so we went to reception and told them. Only then did we get in the room. Otherwise the staff was friendly and the location was good.

Great stay!

I loved staying at Wyndham Kona. It is in a great location & has wonderful staff. We had our own place & it was pristine. Two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, balcony, washer/dryer, dish washer, oven, etc. all the works! My friend and I are in our early 20s and did not see anyone around our age but everyone was kind. The resort has activities almost every day. I would stay here again.

My wife and really enjoyed our stay here while on the Big Island. We could walk to the shops in town or across the street to see the beautiful sunset. A couple of tiny beaches are nearby or if your a good swimmer dolphins are across the street in the morning till about 11 o'clock. You'll notice a lot the snorkel boat tours there. Beautiful, well kept grounds with a few historic ruins on the property. Our room had a full kitchen, 2 big bedrooms, a huge lanai, and a washer/dryer unit. The staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful, we just can't say enough about them.

Nice place to stay

A lovely place to stay on The Big Island, walkable into Kona town. It's very peaceful, the staff are attentive and helpful. Unit decor is dull, but that's just my opinion and didn't detract from an enjoyable stay
