What We Love
- Kuta’s first hotel opened here 80 years ago, and the location remains absolutely stunning
- Cocktails have a habit of evaporating at the Surf Pool Bar, which overlooks the beach
- The hotel’s all-fun and very hands-on cooking class wends its way from market to kitchen to table
What To Know
- The Heritage Hotel sits in a very developed area of Bali
- Kuta is the island's most popular beach to the scene can be packed
- Best for friends and party-hearty travelers
- Free WiFi
- Handicap Accessible
- Parking On Site
As might be expected from the name, heritage played a big part in the design of this beachfront hotel. Kuta’s past as a fishing village is evoked with nautical details referencing all aspects of seafaring, from carpets woven in a wave pattern to curving beams that look like billowing sails to aquariums stocked with tropical fish. It’s almost as if a vast ship has beached itself and turned into a hotel.
Bed & Bath
The four different room categories – Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suites – range from about 390 to 600 square feet. Highly polished wood floors; wavelike, brightly striped rugs; and sepia photos of historic Bali brillantly bridge the island’s past and present. Open-plan bathrooms in most rooms remain open to the guest rooms and have relaxing rainshowers.
The resort doesn’t so much tick all the boxes as fill them in with all the colors of the rainbow. In addition to a serene spa, fitness center and pool, there’s Waves, the all-day diner and a pool bar. Most significant is Bob & Louise Lounge Bar – a tribute to Bali’s original hoteliers who set up a property on this site back in 1936.
In the Area
It would be hard to get bored in Kuta; simply pinball from shops to restaurants to beach to bars to clubs and then start all over again the next day. The Discovery Shopping Mall is one of the most popular, but it may be more entertaining to shop at one of the outdoor markets like Kuta Art on Jalan Kartika Plaza Street. Want to catch some waves? To Pro Surf School with you! And a beach massage at sunset will cost no more than a few dollars: a superb way to ease into the evening.
How to Get There
Arguably one of the best locations in the beach side Kuta area for its proximity to the Kuta beach restaurants shops and the discovery mall. Comfortable cheerful and lively place although somewhat tired looking along the corridors but the rooms are impeccable.
Me and my family reach there on the 6th by our superb supir angga and drove us to kuta beach heritage. The bellman, receptionist was very humble and friendly. Once i got my key and walk to the room it is gorgeous with the pludge pool that was perfect for my kids. I wish to never leave the room haha. The breakfast was amazing and they have an indonesian food corner that was very nicely done and they are very tasty! Thanks to my supir angga and wawan for showing us wonders in bali. It is breathtaking, i wish we live here forever. You may find them under @supirbali at instagram. Thanks to the staff of kuta beach heritage, Rio and Rahmat, i did not manage to see them in person, but u guys help me with my booking i am truly blessed. Thank you bali! We will be seeing u soon xoxo
NEVER, NEVER, EVER STAY HERE!
My wife booked the hotel using her credit card, we stayed in the best suite available with its own pool,
On departure I went to sign the bill while my wife organised taxis and travel plans.
The staff wouldn’t let me sign the bill, as it was my wife’s credit card,
She wasn’t with me,
IMMEDIATELY their demeanour changed from pleasant outright HOSTILE!
Suddenly there was extra security demanding CASH I didn’t have.
They frogmarched me to the nearest ATM without allowing any detour to return the hired bike, 20 metres away,
I was manhandled back to the hotel and paid the bill in cash,
Ive never been so humiliated, treated like a common conman criminal.
In the fluster and frustration with the pressure from the security watching over my ATM transaction
I forgot to remove my card, GONE,
MY ERROR, from their pressure,
I RECOMMEND KUTA SARI, where the staff are genuine and friendly.
I made a complaint to the hotel, very soon after the event,
That was over a month ago,
I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY RESPONSE
THEY DON’t CARE ABOUT YOU
THEY only WANT YOUR $$$$$$$ they will treat you like DIRT
Hotel is very near to Kuta beach, a lot of restaurants are nearby, rooms and premises are very clean and upon my arrival i was upgraded to a superb junior suite near swimming pool. I will surely come back again on my upcoming visits!
Stayed here for four nights, hotel staff very welcoming on arrival and bringing our bags to our room, room was excellent, could not fault anything. Perfectly located hotel in easy walking distance to everything in Kuta, located next to the Hard Rock Cafe which has a great band on every night, opposite the beach, there are lots of different areas for the nightlife in Kuta, all walkable and easy to find, always felt safe and every where we went to drink the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel pool and rooftop was fantastic, always free sunloungers, pool bar has great variety and offers happy hours 5pm-7pm and other offers during the day, one day they had live music at the poolside which was excellent! Ate here also for lunch and the food was delicious. Breakfast caters for everyone and every nationality, nothing you couldn’t get. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
