The Kuta Beach Heritage Hotel Bali – Managed By Accor
What We Love
- Kuta’s first hotel opened here 80 years ago, and the location remains absolutely stunning
- Cocktails have a habit of evaporating at the Surf Pool Bar, which overlooks the beach
- The hotel’s all-fun and very hands-on cooking class wends its way from market to kitchen to table
What To Know
- The Heritage Hotel sits in a very developed area of Bali
- Kuta is the island's most popular beach to the scene can be packed
- Best for friends and party-hearty travelers
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site
As might be expected from the name, heritage played a big part in the design of this beachfront hotel. Kuta’s past as a fishing village is evoked with nautical details referencing all aspects of seafaring, from carpets woven in a wave pattern to curving beams that look like billowing sails to aquariums stocked with tropical fish. It’s almost as if a vast ship has beached itself and turned into a hotel.
Bed & Bath
The four different room categories – Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suites – range from about 390 to 600 square feet. Highly polished wood floors; wavelike, brightly striped rugs; and sepia photos of historic Bali brillantly bridge the island’s past and present. Open-plan bathrooms in most rooms remain open to the guest rooms and have relaxing rainshowers.
The resort doesn’t so much tick all the boxes as fill them in with all the colors of the rainbow. In addition to a serene spa, fitness center and pool, there’s Waves, the all-day diner and a pool bar. Most significant is Bob & Louise Lounge Bar – a tribute to Bali’s original hoteliers who set up a property on this site back in 1936.
In the Area
It would be hard to get bored in Kuta; simply pinball from shops to restaurants to beach to bars to clubs and then start all over again the next day. The Discovery Shopping Mall is one of the most popular, but it may be more entertaining to shop at one of the outdoor markets like Kuta Art on Jalan Kartika Plaza Street. Want to catch some waves? To Pro Surf School with you! And a beach massage at sunset will cost no more than a few dollars: a superb way to ease into the evening.
How to Get There
For a 5 star hotel you expect everything to be exceptional.Well this isn't the case for this hotel.Cleanliness was below par in many ways (dirty towels, shower and more) and something has to be done with the smell of rooms and hallways. Rooms without a balcony look at the hotel's lobby which is really bad.Staff however was super friendly and the top floor with the pool etc. is a highlight
One of the best spots to stay in Bali which is close to everything.
Very nice view of the beach with a nice swimming pool, very Helpful staff and a nice breakfast with good verities.
Rooms are big and clean but look a bit outdated.
The entrance & the lobby are not great at looking for a 5 stars Hotel.
Overall very good value for a 4-star Hotel but not a 5-star one.
Our second stay at the Kuta Beach Heritage and we are still happy with this 1st class hotel. The junior suites all face the beach and the 3rd floor rooms, with balconies offer the best view. These rooms also allow for smokers to have a puff out on the balcony otherwise they would be running downstairs. The breakfast selection is very diverse and high quality. The infinity pool is clean and the view is amazing. This hotel is roughly equivalent to the Hilton or Hyatt international standards in Australia (almost). The extra cost for a junior suite is definitely worth it in our view. The staff, both a reception and in the restaurants are friendly and very professional.
I travelled with a fried to Bali in July 2018 and stayed at The Kuta Beach Heritage Hotel. The property is managed by the Accor Group and as a member had booked through my membership.
For us, when we reached the hotel from the airport, our first impression of the property was not impressive.
Our check in process was smooth and the front desk staff were friendly.
For a star rated property, the lobby could be much better and welcoming.
We had booked a twin room, with two seperate beds. The room was not spacious and had just enough space to move around.
There were no refreshments in the mini bar and no coffee maker / kettle in the room either.
The room had a balcony which was a plus as we smoke and I believe there are no smoking rooms in the hotel. I would suggest to opt for rooms with the view of the beach, otherwise the rooms towards the side of the hotel have no great view.
Room service was prompt except one occasion where we had to followup couple of times for a bucket of ice.
Housekeeping do a decent job with cleaning, replenishing toiletries and doing up the bed daily.
Breakfast spread was mostly Indonesian, Chinese and Western. If you are from India, or a vegetarian, not much of options in the breakfast. In room dining / a la carte may have some options.
The restaurant, bar and swimming pool are in the roof top and offer a relaxed setting overlooking the beach.
The hotel is right opposite the beach and is located in an excellent location with lots of cafes and bars at walkable distance. Legian street is 10 mins walk from the hotel where all the action is and major night clubs are located.
Overall, not a luxury hotel, but a value for money stay.
We had a great stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. A BIG thanks to the front desk staff member Mr. Anthony, Ms Annise , Mr Denny and Ms Margaret for the their understanding and hospitality .The buffet breakfast was very good too, with a wide variety of all kinds of cuisines. We would also like to thank the restaurant staff members Nita,Rosita and Faisol for their attentiveness and service.
