Beachfront Bali mod resort in the historic heart of Kuta with a spa, bumping bar scene and funky pool

The Look

As might be expected from the name, heritage played a big part in the design of this beachfront hotel. Kuta’s past as a fishing village is evoked with nautical details referencing all aspects of seafaring, from carpets woven in a wave pattern to curving beams that look like billowing sails to aquariums stocked with tropical fish. It’s almost as if a vast ship has beached itself and turned into a hotel.

Bed & Bath

The four different room categories – Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suites – range from about 390 to 600 square feet. Highly polished wood floors; wavelike, brightly striped rugs; and sepia photos of historic Bali brillantly bridge the island’s past and present. Open-plan bathrooms in most rooms remain open to the guest rooms and have relaxing rainshowers.

The resort doesn’t so much tick all the boxes as fill them in with all the colors of the rainbow. In addition to a serene spa, fitness center and pool, there’s Waves, the all-day diner and a pool bar. Most significant is Bob & Louise Lounge Bar – a tribute to Bali’s original hoteliers who set up a property on this site back in 1936.

In the Area

It would be hard to get bored in Kuta; simply pinball from shops to restaurants to beach to bars to clubs and then start all over again the next day. The Discovery Shopping Mall is one of the most popular, but it may be more entertaining to shop at one of the outdoor markets like Kuta Art on Jalan Kartika Plaza Street. Want to catch some waves? To Pro Surf School with you! And a beach massage at sunset will cost no more than a few dollars: a superb way to ease into the evening.

Outstanding Accor hotel. Rio and his team run the perfect Kuta hotel here, they made us feel at home as soon as we checked in.

Customer service and housekeeping is beyond Sofitel quality. $130 a night is extraordinary value.

We got engaged at the Sofitel nusa dua 10 days ago and planned to spend one night to check out kuta. 10 days later we are still here, it’s hard to leave this hotel and the surrounding area.

They gave us a Beautiful room 30m from the beach. We’ve stayed at the Pullman senimyak, Sofitel nusa dua and the heritage - the Heritage wins by a long way.

Beds are better than mybeds - extremely comfortable.

It’s close to everything including great coffee at kitchenette at beachwalk shopping centre and a fantastic beach bar across the rd from the hotel concierge. Ask for adi and get a surf lesson! You’ll be standing up in 15 mins.

Great place to unwind, rooms were always well cleaned everyday.
The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. Chef Madyani and his team always went out there way to make or cook what our tummy desired.
Thanks to all the bar/restaurant staff making our stay very enjoyable.
The kids had a great time in and out of the pool

Good hotel but lot of space for improvements

This hotel was booked by my SIL without my knowledge.

It's right near the kuta beach. Rather crowded street, which I hate. I usually like quaint places.

If you are into street shopping and bustling market, this is the place for you.

5 star for staff

3 star for service. Maybe they have staff who is not trained go handle international guest. Especially housekeeping. Lacks communication skills. You do not have to ask reception everyone guest wants service from housekeeping.

3 star for chef. He has no idea about indian food. Why I am saying this is if you want to keep an Indian spread in Buffet you should have a trained staff for it.

5 star for the variety in buffet spread.

A nice experience

Stayed here for 3 nights during our bali visit middle of January 2019. Beautiful hotel with lovely staffs. Services were excellent with reasonable price. They have good restaurant and a beautiful pool. This hotel just in front of kuta beach with good transportation to all places. They have nice clean rooms with all needed facilities. A lovely place to stay at kuta. Love to visit again.

The check in process was extremely long however once in our rooms we were pleasantly surprised. They were a great size however were a little tired and needed some renovating. But location was excellent and staff were friendly and accommodating
