How to Get There
Nice hotel and welcoming staff. We have spent 7 days there and we have enjoyed our time in Jimbaran. Unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars since I was expecting a bit more from the Beach Club. Nonetheless, I would strongly recommend the Kupu Kupu hotel.
The way this hotel is advertised is very clever. We booked this based on internet pictures, spending that little bit more than our other hotels we booked this as a treat. When we arrived we were VERY surprised at how tired and distressed this place looked. It was nothing compared to the pictures. We had stayed is much better hotels for far less. The spa was lovely - but the hotel its self was very strange. You could see that maybe when it first opened it was lovely but its now seen better days. The pool isn't very nice and its very small. If you like to explore there is not a lot going on around the hotel. The beach club breakfast was vile, the service there was poor - very rude people. I think because you pay the hotel for your breakfast they assume they wont get tips so don't feel the need to be polite or welcoming. All in all this hotel was a lesson learnt, dont asume the pictures you see on the website are recent. Either that or the photographer was VERY good!
I would say , that it was excellent beginning for our trip in Bali. Everything starting from meeting in airport and ending with checkout was on expected level. Spa and staff hospitality are wonderful. Breakfasts are are good and you can always pick something to eat.
Overall totally positive impression. Value for money definitely.
We loved this place from the room , beautiful swimming pool and the lovely people who worked there! Every restaurant had great quality food they would even deliver to your room . Along with he great beach club and the free buggy ride back and forth we loved everything about this place
Location is okay for Jimbaran area. The beach club is average - poor expensive food and extremely poor service. We had to get our own menus, call for service multiple times, walked up to pay our bill etc. Rooms: The linens provided were old and worn. Shower drainage smelled so bad, even the toilet bowl was rickety. Very dark without adequate lighting. Lastly, big fat rat in room 16. Staff told us to wait while they check but we were so freaked and insisted to switch rooms. I dont see anything relating to the L’Occitane name and would give this 2 out of 5*.
