Bedroom Elegant Hip Luxury Modern Suite property condominium living room Resort home mansion Villa

An elegant, exclusive retreat of just 40 expansive pool villas steps away from the white sands of Bali’s beguiling Jimbaran Bay

The Lowdown

The resort’s 40 villas, which range in size from one to six bedrooms, are inspired by classical Balinese architecture, with two or three pavilions surrounding a courtyard garden with a swimming pool, outdoor shower, and sun loungers. The Karma Lounge restaurant is open-air and surrounded by tropical palms and sweet-smelling frangipani trees. The chefs prepare local dishes and Western comfort food using ingredients from nearby farms, and live musicians often play anything from jazz and blues to traditional Balinese gamalan music. The Karma Spa offers an array of treatments from oxygen infusion facials to Balinese massage.

In the Area

The resort is on the shores of Jimbaran Bay, the hub of Bali’s nightlife and surf scene. The Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple, the most sacred of the eight cardinal temples on the island, is located just a 15-minute drive away; it’s dramatically suspended on a rock outcropping high above the waves. The concierges can also arrange game fishing, whitewater rafting, Balinese cooking classes, cultural encounters in ancient villages, shopping in local markets, climbing a volcano, scuba diving with giant manta rays, and kite surfing.

After a sight hiccup on the first day, villa 20 had 50 steps from front door to kitchen which was on the top floor of villa, this was after I had informed Karma that my wife had a knee problem, sorted out the 2nd day and transferred to villa No.6 no steps ,villa was everything that we expected really nice bedrooms, even though we had to let our son & his wife have the master suite upstairs, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, location of resort is in the quiet area of Jimbaran but only about a 10/15 minutes walk to amenities, good supermarket behind the resort.Highly recommended for a quiet, relaxing stay.

The Original Karma in Bali
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Bali has some of the best Karma properties- their Karma Kandhara is included in the list of leading small hotels in the world. But the Karma story began with the Jimbaran property.

It is located in the hills that slope down to the world famous Jimbaran beach, but not quite on the beach. You access it after crossing the road through a lane opposite its entrance gate. But for that small inconvenience, it is as good as a beach property.

The villas are in the signature Karma style, with large rooms, elegant Devore, comfortable furnishings, a private pool complete with sun beds, a functional kitchen, and a tropical garden. There is nothing that could possibly improve the setup.

The guests have the use of a poolside restaurant- The Bay. The food is quite tasty, though on the expensive side. You can get a meal or drinks at substantially lower prices on any of the beach shacks, and enjoy the view of the sea.

The resort runs daily activities, including movies ‘under the stars’, barbecue nights, burger nights, and cooking classes. The staff, though limited in their knowledge of English, do a great job. And true to Karma tradition, they are most helpful, though a trifle slow.

The only point of criticism - if you can call it that- is that the resort does not have sea views. But for that, everything else is perfect.

The Staff are exceptional. Nothing is a problem. Secure, so clean, great food.

Had the Holiday of a limetime. Jimbaran Beach a stone's throw away. Great restaurants on site and nearby. Spent time in the Intercontinental Hotel, including the wonderful Japanese Restaurant there. Ate in the Four Seasons Hotel nearby. Went to Karma Kendara Resort on 2 days, had a wonderful couples massage there and swim in the infinity pool. Great food there too. The staff arranged taxis and hire cars for our trips to Bali National Golf Club, Waterbom Park in Kuta and the Monkey Dance at Uluwatu temple. Our Villa was exceptionally clean, had good aircon, a nice pool. We were only sorry we had to leave and go back to the real world!

thank you

A great time as always for our stay at your fantastic property. All of the staff were so helpful to my husband who was having trouble walking they went out of their way to help him many thanks for that. Our villa was fantastic the food was good prices were reasonable. Jimbaran is our favourite Karma property to stay in we have stayed there several times and look forward very much to staying again.
