Bedroom Elegant Hip Luxury Modern Suite property condominium living room Resort home mansion Villa

Overview

An elegant, exclusive retreat of just 40 expansive pool villas steps away from the white sands of Bali’s beguiling Jimbaran Bay

The Lowdown

The resort’s 40 villas, which range in size from one to six bedrooms, are inspired by classical Balinese architecture, with two or three pavilions surrounding a courtyard garden with a swimming pool, outdoor shower, and sun loungers. The Karma Lounge restaurant is open-air and surrounded by tropical palms and sweet-smelling frangipani trees. The chefs prepare local dishes and Western comfort food using ingredients from nearby farms, and live musicians often play anything from jazz and blues to traditional Balinese gamalan music. The Karma Spa offers an array of treatments from oxygen infusion facials to Balinese massage.

In the Area

The resort is on the shores of Jimbaran Bay, the hub of Bali’s nightlife and surf scene. The Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple, the most sacred of the eight cardinal temples on the island, is located just a 15-minute drive away; it’s dramatically suspended on a rock outcropping high above the waves. The concierges can also arrange game fishing, whitewater rafting, Balinese cooking classes, cultural encounters in ancient villages, shopping in local markets, climbing a volcano, scuba diving with giant manta rays, and kite surfing.

A relaxing stay
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I just spent a relaxing 3 days at Karma Jimbaran. The staff were all very friendly and anxious to help and we enjoyed spending time at The Bay Grill for cocktails at happy hour, breakfast and the occasional lunch. We had no need to use the large pool there as we had a private pool villa.
The resort is just opposite the beach and there are great restaurants within walking distance - Sundara (Four Seasons Restaurant is directly opposite) and then there are the Jimbaran Bay seafood restaurants on the beach.
The highlight of our stay would have to be the seafood cooking class we took with Rio, our chef. We had a tour of the fish markets where we watched the fishermen unloading their catch, the traders on the beach and the market itself where Rio purchase our snapper, prawns and vegetables for our meal. On returning to our villa, Rio instructed, chopped, fried and guided us to create an amazing seafood lunch which was enough for us, plus enough to share! His sense of humour and skills were great fun and we highly recommend you take up this option.
Although our one bedroom villa was clean and spacious, there were some issues which we have forwarded on to management and they have assured us that it is being looked into. Otherwise a wonderful stay.
Thanks Karma Jimbaran

Overall a pleasant three day stay. The resort is well appointed and the facilities ideal for a short stop. The location ideal with many options for dinner - informally on the beach or opposite at Sundara and a new restaurant complex adjacent to Karma, as well as the Bay Bar and Grill on site which has great service and a wide selection to choose from. Our downside was our accommodation in Villa 41, however I do believe that the majority of villas are much nicer. If we come back we would certainly not book Villas 40 or 41.
