The resort’s 40 villas, which range in size from one to six bedrooms, are inspired by classical Balinese architecture, with two or three pavilions surrounding a courtyard garden with a swimming pool, outdoor shower, and sun loungers. The Karma Lounge restaurant is open-air and surrounded by tropical palms and sweet-smelling frangipani trees. The chefs prepare local dishes and Western comfort food using ingredients from nearby farms, and live musicians often play anything from jazz and blues to traditional Balinese gamalan music. The Karma Spa offers an array of treatments from oxygen infusion facials to Balinese massage.
In the Area
The resort is on the shores of Jimbaran Bay, the hub of Bali’s nightlife and surf scene. The Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple, the most sacred of the eight cardinal temples on the island, is located just a 15-minute drive away; it’s dramatically suspended on a rock outcropping high above the waves. The concierges can also arrange game fishing, whitewater rafting, Balinese cooking classes, cultural encounters in ancient villages, shopping in local markets, climbing a volcano, scuba diving with giant manta rays, and kite surfing.
How to Get There
Stayed at the Karma Jimbaran villa's which is very nice with great villa's with individual pool. The gardens are magnificent and the service from staff is very good. They have their own restaurant but it also located close to the new Movenpick shopping centre with choices of other restaurants as well as roof top bar.
We booked a 7 night stay at Karma Jimbaran thru Luxury Escapes. Part of the deal included return airport transfers. The gentleman who picked us up was very friendly and welcoming. On check in , we were up graded to a 4 bedroom Villa (29). The villa was lovely and spacious with plenty of room, we were a family consisting of 3 generations the youngest 10months. A cot and a high chair was provided. Yes the beds are fairly firm (typical of Asian countries) all the housekeeping staff were lovely and did their work efficiently.
The location is great to just walk to the beach restaurants and there is a small shopping centre with supermarket practically next door. Great for supplies.
Breakfast was included, small buffet style with eggs cooked to order.
There were a few issues with the villa, first being not able to lock the doors when going out, baby was sleeping in his own room, so not being able to lock the room was very disconcerting. However, a quick call to reception had this fixed with the supply of the master keys.
Nearly all the drainage plugs, kitchen and in bathrooms leaked, we made mention of this, so hopefully they have been replaced.
Karma Jimbaran is a lovely place to stay, especially if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Bali.
Karma Jimbaran looks just like the photographs, it's a lush tropical hideaway and nothing short of stunning. The amazing grounds and The Bay restaurant were immaculate. Breakfast was a bit expensive but delicious none the less. We had a 3 bedroom Villa and it was just beautiful, we were literally pinching ourselves during our entire stay. The pool was beautiful, the gardens were just so lovely and the traditional-ish style of the buildings was just lovely, it was the ultimate vacation. The only downside to this accommodation was the beds were very hard. Definitely also only book directly through Karma Jimbaran, we are members with Karma Odyssey and they were TERRIBLE with communication, however the people at the resort were fantastic.
