With a name that translates to “precious time,” the Jamahal Private Resort & Spa is boutique hideaway catering to honeymooners and couples who want the secluded romance of a private home without sacrificing service. Each of the 13 villas are uniquely decorated, airy and modern with restrained Balinese touches — think four-poster beds on wood floors, colorful textiles, carved objets d’art — and lush indoor-outdoor areas, a sundeck and private pool in some. Elsewhere, there’s a waterfall-fed pool, a spa, fitness center and a private beach club located five minutes from the resort. Fresh meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients can be served in the lounge or delivered to your suite.
In the Area
Ten minutes south of the airport, Jimbaran is known for three things: expensive resorts (developers call it the “Beverly Hills of Bali”), its beach (all golden sand and calm water), and the 50-odd fire-grilled seafood restaurants that line it, offering a no-pretense, quintessential way to take in a spectacular sunset. Menus are nearly identical, just pick out the fish you want, pay by weight and feast. Fisherman haul in the daily catch (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.) at the Fish Market near Jalan Tukad Ayung, north of the bay. Figure out how to cook it with half-day classes at The Four Seasons’s second-to-none Balinese Cooking School.
How to Get There
This was our third stay at the Jamahal. It was just like in Paradise. The Staff and managment were excellent. We had a candle Light Dinner which was very very good. We would like to thank everyone off making this holiday a dream for us.
We had such an amazing and blissful stay at Jamahal. Situated along a busy street, you would never know because the resort feels so secluded once you walk through the main gates. It really feels like walking into another world. The rooms are absolutely beautiful with dreamy canopy beds and deep soaker tubs. We even had the pleasure of being upgraded to the Spa Pool Villa for 1 night, which featured a private pool and garden!
We enjoyed a tranquil breakfast outdoors by our villa each morning, and lunch and dinners were delicious too. What made the experience even more lovely was their staff, who were so attentive, always smiling, and available to help answer any questions. Just wish our stay could have been longer!
We had a great experience this week at Jamahal Resort. The villa was beautiful, the food excellent and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The spa is wonderful and a great way to unwind at the end of the day. We hope to come back again some day soon.
Short ride from the airport. Seamless process to check in. The concierge organized our excursion which was amazing. The pool was warm for the night and cool during the day. Every meal was amazing. Beach was private and walking distance from the hotel. Staff is extremely attentive. I’m looking forward to staying here again next year!
Overall; the service was great, the food was outstanding, and the price was fair. Out of the other villas I have stayed at it was the only villa that had a gym. The location is walking distance to the beach and the area was not as crowded as Seminyak.
The biggest highlight of Jamahal was the food. The breakfast was amazing compared to the other villas I have stayed at in Bali. There is no on site restaurant so they bring the food to your room. I can honestly say the American breakfast is better or at the very least comparable to that of a high end breakfast in the US. If you end up staying there I recommend the eggs Benedict with salmon and crab cakes.
We also purchased the candle light dinner which was pretty good. I ordered the tenderloin steak which I was quite impressed by after having a bad experience with the steak at a previous villa. I would recommend the candle light dinner if you have a little extra money to spend. They surround the area with candles and serve the dinner poolside and bring three courses.
The service was great and they really keep an eye on their guest. If you ask, they will give. During our stay the hotel manager personally greeted us on our first day. Upon initial entry into our room, the tub was full of warm water and had flowers in it; and the bed had flowers on it shaped into a heart. It was never pre-requested, but it was awesome of them to do that. Be advised, if you put up the “do not disturb” sign up when you leave, they will still come by and clean your room. This was not a bad thing and nothing against them; they told us they had an issue in the past when a guest had a do not disturb sign and at the end of their stay they asked the front desk why was their room never cleaned. If you truly would not like your room to be touched while you’re away for the day, you just need to stop by the front desk as you leave and tell them you do not require room service.
They have a gym which other villas did not have. It was a small gym, but it had the basic necessities. The gym was composed of three cardio machines (stationary bike, treadmill, and elliptical), convertible bench/squat rack, and a lat pull down machine.
