With its minimalist architecture, modern decor and sleek, clean lines, the Ize Seminyak is not a traditional Balinese hotel. Striking slate-gray geometric paneling wraps around the property, and polished concrete, muted stone and light wood have been used to create an austere aesthetic. Light floods the lobby and corridors, blurring the line between interior and exterior, and the hotel feels expansive despite not being set on sprawling grounds. It’s a hip urban hotel that caters to a young crowd (25 to 35) looking for stylish, no-fuss comfort.
Bed and Bath
Of the 81 guestrooms, the higher categories (Ize Club) are furnished in dark woods and have iPod docks, whereas Deluxe and Deluxe Jacuzzi Rooms are kitted out with blond woods and have significantly smaller closet space; all have pale blue throws and jumbo pillows atop platform beds. The bathrooms are either a highlight or a drawback, depending on how much privacy you require, as they’re separated from the bedrooms by glass walls. There are shades that can be drawn across, but they don’t offer full coverage — fine if you’re on your own or with your partner, but potentially unsettling if you’re traveling with a friend. Bathrooms are equipped with a handy amenities kit, signature products and fluffy white towels that make stepping out of the shower or tub feel indulgent.
The Meja restaurant has a laid-back vibe, with distressed floors, vintage toys and pastel-colored rotary phones dotting the shelves. Helmed by Australian chef Bradley Harrison, it serves Balinese and European dishes from an open kitchen; the roasted pumpkin salad with quinoa and feta cheese, and the butterfish entrée are particular highlights. After dinner head to the rooftop bar for sea views and cocktails served in quirky jam jars.
In the Area
Seminyak attracts a party crowd, and the Ize puts you right in the center of the action. The lively neighborhood is packed with surfers and shoppers during the day and comes alive in the evening with all-night revelers. The hotel is flanked by bars, including the popular SOS Rooftop Lounge and Potato Head. For eats, try Mama San, a converted two-story dockside warehouse that serves Asian tapas on the ground floor and cocktails in the lounge upstairs; or Mozaic, located right on the beach.
How to Get There
This is more of a 5 star hotel very modern and clean in the heart of Seminyak there was a girl that was in training she was ever so helpful and couldn’t do anything else to make my stay a grand one well done to her I had the pool view room and it was amazing lovely hotel and the breakfast was fantastic the dinner was amazing and had live singers definitely would recommend this hotel.
My husband and I had an incredible stay at Ize Seminyak. Every staff member went above and beyond in proving excellent and friendly service. With special dietary requirements, the staff organised breakfast options that met our needs and even accommodated us with an early breakfast on a day when we had to leave early in the morning. Overall, an incredible stay. Comfortable clean rooms, great location, fantastic pool and good food. Thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful.
Nice and clean hotel with great location. Staff were so nice and open to help with a smile all the time. My boyfriend really appreciated nice gym on our floor. 😊 Recommending not to buy breakfasts and walk around the street where are many fancy, healthy fresh breakfast served.
Located smack on one the busiest and main roads in Seminyak there are endless shops and eateries in the vicinity. It's easy to walk to the nearby mall and to travel further up to Petitenget to check out more cafes and fine dining restaurants.
Check in and check out were extremely fast, the few times we had to deal with staff there were super friendly and helpful. We stayed a total of 5 nights.
The room was an absolute delight. The air conditioning was very strong and cooled the room down super fast and the furnishings were modern.
Loved using our jacuzzi tub every night and the supply of hot water was great. The room had plenty of amenities such as free top up of soft drinks, a hair dryer and staff would come by every evening to ask if we needed more water, towels or any other amenities.
We stayed on the third floor is was one floor above the ground floor. This hotel is next to a restaurant/club so you can hear faint club music even into the wee hours of the night but it's faint enough on the third floor that we had no issues sleeping.
The pool is also lovely, on the seventh floor, where it's super windy in the afternoon, there's never many people so there's plenty of seats to go around.
Overall the quality of the hotel and the room was excellent and we would definitely be glad to stay here again if we plan to stay in the Seminyak area.
