With its minimalist architecture, modern decor and sleek, clean lines, the Ize Seminyak is not a traditional Balinese hotel. Striking slate-gray geometric paneling wraps around the property, and polished concrete, muted stone and light wood have been used to create an austere aesthetic. Light floods the lobby and corridors, blurring the line between interior and exterior, and the hotel feels expansive despite not being set on sprawling grounds. It’s a hip urban hotel that caters to a young crowd (25 to 35) looking for stylish, no-fuss comfort.
Bed and Bath
Of the 81 guestrooms, the higher categories (Ize Club) are furnished in dark woods and have iPod docks, whereas Deluxe and Deluxe Jacuzzi Rooms are kitted out with blond woods and have significantly smaller closet space; all have pale blue throws and jumbo pillows atop platform beds. The bathrooms are either a highlight or a drawback, depending on how much privacy you require, as they’re separated from the bedrooms by glass walls. There are shades that can be drawn across, but they don’t offer full coverage — fine if you’re on your own or with your partner, but potentially unsettling if you’re traveling with a friend. Bathrooms are equipped with a handy amenities kit, signature products and fluffy white towels that make stepping out of the shower or tub feel indulgent.
The Meja restaurant has a laid-back vibe, with distressed floors, vintage toys and pastel-colored rotary phones dotting the shelves. Helmed by Australian chef Bradley Harrison, it serves Balinese and European dishes from an open kitchen; the roasted pumpkin salad with quinoa and feta cheese, and the butterfish entrée are particular highlights. After dinner head to the rooftop bar for sea views and cocktails served in quirky jam jars.
In the Area
Seminyak attracts a party crowd, and the Ize puts you right in the center of the action. The lively neighborhood is packed with surfers and shoppers during the day and comes alive in the evening with all-night revelers. The hotel is flanked by bars, including the popular SOS Rooftop Lounge and Potato Head. For eats, try Mama San, a converted two-story dockside warehouse that serves Asian tapas on the ground floor and cocktails in the lounge upstairs; or Mozaic, located right on the beach.
How to Get There
Ize is at very couple friendly hotel with awesome pool rooms. Their breakfast is also delicious . The staff along with the manager Heri is very courteous. I would recommend all couples to try this hotel in Seminyak .
Very friendly staff. Clean rooms with all needed accessories. Good variety of breakfast with special complimentary menu very pleasing to eyes. Amazing pool. One suggestion: more variety in music and less disco like.
Went there for our honeymoon between 6 to 9 Nov 2019. The hotel is actually tuck in the middle of seminyak. It has a lot of convenience stores, massage places and pubs surrounding it. As it was our honeymoon, they expedite our check in at 1.30pm. We booked the deluxe room with swimming and jacuzzi. It was very spacious and I pretty much love it. Just that downside, all the rooms are non smoking so it was quite difficult for us. However we enjoyed our stay there and the staffs are all very nice, approachable.
