Lush eight-villa retreat with private pools, butler service and easy access to Ubud's main attractions

The Lowdown

Privacy reigns at this central Bali property, which is home to just eight villas equipped with private plunge pools, cabanas and butler service. Balinese accessories accent the contemporary furnishings (sleek gray sofas, chunky stone floors, distressed wood paneling, glass-topped coffee tables), and large sliding doors bring the outside in. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on your private terrace overlooking the valley (the kitchen serves Western and local fare from nearby markets), and spend the sun-soaked days relaxing on a chaise longue next to your private plunge pool and feasting on ice cream, which is made fresh daily.

In the Area

Don’t expect drunken beach revelry in Ubud. This central Bali town is the island’s cultural hub, known for its royal palace, talented artisans and fertile river valleys lined with rice paddies. When you’re not lazing about by your own private pool, spend an afternoon admiring Ubud’s many crafts shops and galleries, book a daytrip to go whitewater rafting down the Ayung River, or recharge at one of the town’s many yoga studios. Don’t miss a visit to the Ubud Palace (just an eight-minute walk from the hotel), especially when it’s the backdrop for a traditional dance performance.

Exceptional place to stay
Reviewed 3 days ago

From receiving us at the reception desk through to our final goodbyes our stay at Aria Villas was exceptional.

The whole place is clean and well kept. The villas themselves are bright, airy, well furnished, free from mould and, very clean. The outside bathroom has a good sized bath and a shower with large rain head - shower has good water pressure.

Bedroom and lounge - massive bed, which is very comfortable, cushioned settee, small table and a unique ‘rod’ chair. There is also an outside area, which is undercover and has another large daybed/lounge, breakfast table and two chairs. The pool is gorgeous. Open to the sun, you don’t get that cold shock when getting into the pool. It is a good size and depth.

The food is very nice. Breakfasts are delicious; you have a choice of traditional or western food with the usual accompaniment of juices, tea or coffee, and bakery products.
On arrival we enquired about scooter hire; within the hour a scooter was waiting complete with helmets. Great service and a very good, up to date model.

For us there was no downside to our stay at Aria Villas. It far exceeded our expectations and just added that something extra to our holiday. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aria Villas for your next stay in Ubud.

We were so taken with the property and everything about it that we will definitely be returning some time in the future.

the villas are well maintained, nice swimming pool, breakfast was great, management helps you arrange things if you want.
Ubud is also a nice place to start a lot of your tours to see the cultural part of Bali, soo Aria Villas is a nice place to come back to after a daytrip

Lovely private villa

We stayed three nights in Aria Villas when we were visiting Ubud and loved it there! Own private villa with a pool was really nice and the breakfast was served every morning by the pool. Food was really good and the breakfast changed every day. Aria Villas have a complimentary shuttle service that we could use to get to city centre and they even offered us a complimentary ride to our next destination in Kerobokan. Our stay in Aria Villas was really nice and relaxing and I wish we could have stayed there longer. Thanks to the staff and manager in Aria Villas for making our stay memorable! :)

Amazing Stay

I cannot speak highly enough of the 3 Duty Managers in place at Aria Villas Ubud. The level of customer service to my wife and I and the way they and their staff carried out their duties was impeccable. The Villa was always clean and there was never any disruption by the team. Highly recommended.

Close to perfect - but not quite

The villas are modern in design and have that 'lived in' vibe - meaning they have been well used (but reasonably maintained). The ones on the lower level (where we stayed) fronted vegetation and not only did it offer a sense of seclusion it was also very intimate.

We liked that the breakfast was served to the villa. The content was huge (we kept some aside as lunch) and changed daily. The staff sought our permission to enter (for breakfast delivery and to make up the room), which meant we could lounge around in the altogether.

The huge sliding door/windows meant we could open the villa. We did this all day and night so as to avoid the aircon (we encountered no bugs).

Sadly, the villa must deal with the neighbour's. Here, the neighbour's incinerated their waste and the pungent smell of burning plastic etc. really affected what otherwise would have been a most perfect stay.

Maybe the villa owners can take away the neighbour's rubbish (for them) so they don't burn it.
