How to Get There
We had a great stay last week, we took the Getaway package, which include spa and meals. We just stayed for 2 nites in the hotel, and its a relaxing stay. We thank you to Concierge Manager, Mr. Hatmawan who take good care of us during our stay, we enjoyed our local chat with him, and he make sure we tried the Alila experience. We were booked for snorkeling but we didnt feel well, so we cancel it at midnight, and he suggested we took Balinese Healer, and arranged it for that day, which is a big relief for us, as the experience is amazing, and it help me with my sleep. During our stay, we feel cozy like at home, with everyone trying to serve us, friendly, accommodating. The hotel itself is not big, but we prefer that way. The pool is small, with big lawn, which we like the most. The downside is the room itself is a bit outdated, its normal considering the hotel was established for quite long time, and if the room can be improved, it will be more comfortable, especially on the terrace door, there is a gap between door and wall, so small bugs and mosquitoes can get in. The TV is outdated, and some local favourite channel was not there, despite our call to the front desk. The food in the restaurant can be improved for the variety, as if we have to stay longer, we will run out of option for food choice, maybe because our taste are quite picky. We also want to thanks our spa therapist, especially Yanti, as she has served us for few days. In summary, this is a great place to retreat and relax, for us, as we just stay in the hotel and enjoy all the thing hotel offered.
Fabulous trip away to real Bali. Staff were amazing and wonderful to support a hotel that is environmentally responsible and socially sustainable. Food was incredible and all locally sourced! Snorkelling was a hidden gem. Bed was exactly as described and very comfy.
Alila Manggis really exceeded our expectations. We had a beautiful, clean suite with a comfy bed, pillow menu, huges bathroom and an amazing garden and sea view. We really liked the big balcony with comfy couches, from there you have a stunning view over the place, with only the sound of waves and birds. The team did a wonderful job and made us feel welcome and our stay special. They all are very friendly and spoke so well Englisch. The breakfast and food from the restaurant were delicious. We really enjoyed the big pool and spa. We also attend a Tai Chi class and highly recommend it! Overall the peaceful atmosphere, attentive staff, and a beautiful room made our stay so wonderful and relaxing. This hotel would be definitely our number one choice if we come back to the area.
Service is fantastic. Staff are fantastic and go that extra mile. Love the Pool. Love the view. The staff went that extra mile for us during our stay. We used the bar (3/2 happy hour) , the spa and had a great massage and the dinner facilities. Bfast was fantastic and enjoyed the different choice daily. This is a quiet chilled place and the grounds are well maintained and excellent
Alila Manggis was the second Alila property I visited on my recent trip to Bali, after having first stayed at the Alila Ubud.
The entrance to the hotel is very impressive, with beautiful views over the gardens and ocean, and epitomises outdoor living. However the pool is what steals the show at the Alila Manggis. Framed by palm trees with ocean views and surrounded by comfy loungers, this is where I spent most of my days, sipping on cocktails and soaking up the views. Even when the hotel was at capacity, I had no trouble getting a lounger, and the hotel didn't feel crowded.
The rooms are spacious, and I was fortunate enough to have a 2nd storey room with a lovely balcony with a daybed and views over both the pool and ocean. The rooms are decorated in a minimalistic style, which I felt suited the look and feel of the hotel.
Perhaps my favorite experience at the Alila Manggis was the cooking class I took with chef Wayan. If you appreciate good food and want to learn how to make some authentic Indonesian cuisine, then this is a 'must'. We started off by visiting the market, then stopped at a traditional salt farm, before heading back to the hotel's organic garden where we prepared a feast. It was a truly wonderful day and one of my favorite memories from my time at Alila Manggis.
As can be expected with all Alila properties, the food was wonderful, and there was a good variety of options on offer. I especially enjoyed the banquet night, and the daily afternoon tea.
A lovely hotel, off the tourist trail, which I'd happily recommend.
