Sanur is a cozy seaside village on the southeast coast of Bali. This ideal destination hits the sweet-spot – it’s more laid-back and low-key than popular Seminyak, but it’s a bit more lively than regions like Nusa Dua. It’s just the place to enjoy the delights of Bali while still getting that island-escape feel you’re looking for. You’ll experience the famous white-sand beaches, turqouise waters, endless watersports, delicious local cuisine and friendly island culture – all with the know-how of a seasoned jet-setter.
The stylish Akana Boutique Hotel is the perfect retreat on this island paradise. Located close to the beach and at the end of Sanur’s main street, the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from serene spas, delicious restaurants, boutique shopping and tranquil waves. This relative newcomer impresses with a sleek facade of wood and glass, and the spacious rooms boast modern comforts and a contemporary style. And, when you’re not soaking up the sun on those picture-perfect beaches, you can take a dip in the lagoon-like pool, dotted with sunny spots for afternoon lounging.
Each Deluxe Pool View room is dressed in elegant, contemporary decor, boasting sleek lines and chic furnishings. Exquisite stone and wooden touches add to the warm, natural ambience. You’ll also find a private balcony facing the pool – perfect for enjoying the calming sea breeze.
Selada Restaurant has the vibe of a hip café, with floor-to-ceiling windowsoffering a view of Sanur’s main street. Breakfast is served here each morning, as well as a menu of modern European dishes and local specialties throughout the day. At night, enjoy a cocktail at the bar and accompany it with one of the bar’s popular light bites.
The hotel is located just minutes from the beach, on the southern end of Sanur’s main street. You’ll have plenty of shopping and dining options at your fingertips, as well as Balinese massages and watersports activities galore.
How to Get There
Second stay in 7 months here, nice room, Aust tv to watch the footie. Internet is vastly improved since last visit, really good now.
Good size 42" tv with good channel selection
Love the bathroom
Stayed in pool entry room on ground floor
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Great location, no complaints
It's a small nice Boutique hotel with amazing design. We loved our room with pool access, possibility to borrow a bicycle and the beach club on a best part of Sanur beach as well as varied menu for the breakfast!
Let me start by saying this is without doubt a good hotel. The staff are friendly and always asking how you are doing and how your stay is.
For us though there is a couple of major issues, the main one being the pool.
As the pool area is enclosed on all 4 sides it get virtually no sun all day.
They have a private section on the beach but on 2 of the 4 days we were here there were no free beds when we went there, this is probably down to the fact that the pool area gets no sun. There are I think 12 beds at the beach area, more are required.
If like us you like to lie in the sun I would think twice about coming here.
I would not come back for that reason, which is a shame because like I said it is a good hotel.
I arrived on Friday 03rd of May, and was welcomed warmly and given a cool towel and drink, which was lovely due to the heat.
I asked to be upgraded as I needed a room with a bath, they agreed at a very reasonable price - but I could not check in until 15:30, which was ok with me.
I stayed in room 104 which is on the ground level and has direct pool access.
It looked beautiful as my entrance was surrounded with tropical plants.
As soon as I walked in I smelt the damp. You could see evidence of it on the walls and the couch “leather” had split and discoloured.
The room was a little dark for my tastes but otherwise it was clean.
The bathroom was lovely - completely outdoors - I knew what I was paying for so, it was brilliant.
The food in the restaurant was ok, and staff service in the restaurant was average. I used a discount code - but still thought prices were higher then they needed to be.
The breakfast was again, ok. There are better places to eat around the corner to be honest.
The hotel very nicely looked after my luggage for 2 days, whilst I went to Lombok for free which I really appreciated.
7/10 - Good hotel price, but damp smell is a real problem.
Booked in as B&B for 9 nights - met with welcome drink - refreshing virgin mojito on arrival - and bags brought up later. Great room facing pool on 1st floor - preferred to those on ground floor which are directly off the pool area and subject the noise and activity of others using the pool. Deluxe superking size bed - very comfortable , TV with English speaking channels , great shower , separate towels for both indoor and pool use, hairdryer , safe , fridge with mini bar items but can also be used for own goods , robes and flip flops provided = even a towel rail on the balcony - have thought of most everything - even 1 x 3 pin socket in room. Daily cleaning service. Own beach area with beds, umbrellas and towels and restaurant on site
