For sun and surf at its most stylish, you can’t beat Bali’s southwestern coast. The five-star Abia Villas puts you right in the heart of Legian, a prime beach destination with a brilliant mix of upsclae and local shopping, close to both Kuta and fashionable Seminyak.
With understated interiors combining modern luxe and Balinese tradition, this 15-villa hideaway has a convincing less-is-more appeal. The low-rise architectural design is sharp and angular, with villa features including a semi-outdoor tropical bathroom, private pool and airy, open-plan layout.
There are just a small handful of facilities at Abia Villas (you’ll want to head out and explore, after all). Dine on rustic, locally inspired fare at Kassava Restaurant and put aside a couple of hours for some holistic maintenance at XHALE Spa. Want to get that detox retreat glow by the end of your stay? Take a bicycle out for a gentle spin, try a yoga class or learn how to ride those famous waves.
How to Get There
Lovely villas with very private poos. Delightful staff and good food.Only slight negatives are poor coffee from espresso machine (staff need proper training),and poor excursion driver arranged by hotel. Lookup trip advisor to arrange your own driver at a better price and hopefully one more knowledgeable than the one the hotel acquired for us. Clothes can be laundered right next to the villas at very little cost.A Nespresso machine would be a good idea in the villas.
Abia Villas is a very special establishment, made so by an incredibly tight team of organised, friendly, courteous and kind staff. From the moment Mr. Wayan picked us up from the airport, we were made to feel immediately part of the Abia family. The manager, Mr. Dana, has a great air of calm and professionalism around him and also has a lot of patience in dealing with guests ever changing requests. A great sense of humour and a passion for his work and his team, makes him a fantastic manager. Miss. Sandy, the second in command, speaks very good English and makes you feel cared for and special from the moment you meet her. Mr. Denny simply always has a smile on his face and loves to joke with you with a warm conviviality. Miss. Indri was amazing at helping us organise a whole range of trips and days out and was always so pleasant and open to talk about her wonderful culture. Miss Sopi (sorry if I got the name wrong!) was always so keen to check how we were and seemed so passionate about her guests. Miss. Rama was always so sweet with room service and serving drinks/food and her and her friend prepared our villa perfectly with candles and flowers for our dinner for the first night. And even though he doesn’t work directly for Abia, how could we forget the incredibly Mr. Nyoman, our driver for most of the week. He took us to some incredible places and always with a wonderful laugh and smile. Definitely ask for Nyoman the Superman if you stay at Abia! And then there are the amazing staff at the spa who will either invite you to there lovely spa or come to your villa for a whole range of very special treatments! Just wonderful! The villas are of course beautiful and comfortable but it really is the wonderful staff who make a stay here very special. They should all be very proud of themselves and we already miss them all so much! (Mr. Dana! I promise not to bother you on what’s app so much now! Though of course I will send you our video when it’s made! ;)).
The only improvement we would suggest concerns the times of the breakfast. Unfortunately, the only thing that can make a vacation in Bali a little frustrating is the horrendous traffic on the roads. Obviously this isn’t Abia’s fault at all but it means that to see a lot of the interesting things on the days out, the drivers want to pick you up quite early in the morning and so you don’t always get the chance to enjoy the big breakfast on offer...I really recommend Abia to find a way to offer breakfast from 6.30am as I think this could alleviate the stress of rushing for your driver early in the morning. Just a suggestion though because honestly Abia Villas is a true gem of Bali! BOOK NOW!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Abia Villa for 4 nights. It was an amazing experience from the customer service to the suite itself, we could not be happier.
Abia Villa is set within a side street alley from the busy main road. Because of this, you do not get any of the noise from the main road or the Kuta beach crowds and it feels like a tranquil retreat once you're in the suite. We stayed in suite 10, a one-bedroom villa. The private pool was actually much larger than we anticipated (coming from another villa in Ubud that had a smaller private pool). The outdoor living space was amazing as we enjoyed great weather during our stay and made use of the pool regularly.
The suite itself is very spacious and clean, and we enjoyed the bathroom space which is semi-exposed to the elements by the shower and bathtub area. Privacy may be a consideration if you are traveling with someone who is not a significant other, as one can look into the space from the pool. However, we loved the overall aesthetic of the open space (the doors from the bedroom can slide open to the poolside deck).
The breakfast menu had enough options for us to enjoy during our 4 night stay. There are also many food options within close walking proximity along the main road if you would like to explore. Along that topic, Abia Villa's location is pretty convenient, although on the hottest days, it was probably as far as I'd want to get from the beach--about a 15min walk depending on where along the beach you'd like to be.
Abia Villa served as a great home base to explore the Legian/Kuta area. In terms of others being able to find its location, we booked a guided volcano hike and the driver was able to find Abia Villa without any issues. Similarly, I had custom suits made and the tailor was able to deliver the suits to Abia Villa without issue.
The staff were all amazing and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. They were extremely courteous during breakfast, greeted us each time we'd come-and-go, and were always extremely respectful on the occasional times we bumped into them as they were servicing the rooms. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby after our check-out so that we could enjoy our last day in Bali (our flight out was late in the evening). We booked the airport transfer with them as well and the drive went very smoothly. I even received a call from the manager during the drive to the airport to ensure that our stay was enjoyable.
Loved our stay and would highly recommend Abia Villa to anyone thinking of staying in the area.
the service was good, the room i like it, the pool i love it, they have floating breakfast, its interesting, location is quit near to airport, breakfast you can choose in the room or restaurant, have bathup, outdoor shower, and all the amenities is okey, clean room, so comfie
Beautifully appointed, luxurious private villa set back from the busy street. Abia Villas is the best of both worlds, close to the action while set back in a quiet peaceful atmosphere.
The staff are so accommodating and friendly, and it was lovely over the week to see regular faces who seemed genuinely pleased to see you happy and relaxed.
Thank you to the team at Abia Villas for everything, I will be back for sure.
