How to Get There
Went here on business and the hotel is located in an area that has enough to do if you aren't mobile. The staff was great and the rooms are about average. The view in the picture below is from room 1221.
We have stayed at this hotel previously. It’s location to our family and the fact that it is attached to a large mall have been 2 reasons we chose to return. However, a few situations have made as we think our choice for the future. There was a large athletic event being held nearby and many high school teenagers were staying at the hotel. We unfortunately were located on the floor that we were surrounded by them and they were not properly chaperoned nor supervised. The concierge’s lounge is extraordinarily small for the amount of guests Using the area. It is cramped and limited seating. Staff was polite throughout our stay
Stayed at the Sheraton for a business trip. The hotel was nice and the front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The food was a little pricey. Breakfast buffet was almost $20 and not much food to choose from. The hotel is next to a mall and is convenient to other good restaraunts.
The good things - they had my room ready early; very clean
The bad things - as soon as I opened the door to my room, BAM, wall. It made it almost impossible to get the cart all the way into the room and out to unload the cart.
The AC was a joke. I had it set as low at 63, as high as 78, and never felt a difference.
They need to increase the brightness of their lightbulbs, everywhere. It's so dim throughout the entire hotel that you can barely tell there's a light bulb on.
There was a couch right in front of the window. To enjoy the view, I had to walk around the couch.
They have a policy where you have to "opt in" to get housekeeping to come by to leave fresh linen and to make the bed. It's a free program where they are trying to save money on doing laundry, which I can understand. But, what if a tenant doesn't understand the policy or the clerk forgets to ask about the policy? I got no housekeeping and no bed made. The policy should be exactly backwards. The hotel should have to ask the customer to "opt into" the program. If the guest doesn't "opt in",or if the hotel forgets to ask the guest to "opt in", then the guest will get housekeeping services.
Overall, I'd stay somewhere else cheaper that offers a free breakfast. Though this was a nice place, it just isn't worth it. I'd rather have housekeeping services, a better layout for the room, and an AC that works, and I am confident I can get that, for less money as well.
IU School of Medicine held its annual Med school class reunion at the Sheraton. Great venue, great location, meeting rooms were perfect. Quality of food was excellent, especially the lasagna on Saturday afternoon. Our hotel room was perfect as well. Good price, ADA accessibility, proximity to meeting rooms was excellent.
