Surprise and disappointment

I am a long time Marriott reward member....and a frequent guest at this hotel. Recent remodeling has produced a beautiful facility...and in all past stays everything has been top notch. That is why this trip left me surprised. There were stains on bedding- both beds, shower water temp was an issue- changing from freezing to hot in seconds over and over. Worst...elevators took forever. Waited over 10 minutes every time I need to go up to room or down to lobby. This was happening for everyone. I was there 3 days and it happened all days and all times of day and night. Had all the pushed floors un-select mid lift with a full elevator. You had to add 20 minutes every time you left the room just to be on time.

Nice place and friendly folks

The hotel was very nice, with friendly staff wherever I turned. The public areas were inviting and the rooms contemporary and spacious! Everything was clean when I checked in, and the check in process quick and efficient. The people assisting in front of the hotel, who directed me when I first arrived were kind and helpful. About the only complaint is the number of elevators compared to the number of rooms. This delayed the large groups that the hotel can accommodate, especially with conferences going on, with start and stop times similar. Otherwise, everything was great!

Not a Truly Warm Experience

I was assigned this hotel in attending The American legion Convention. Check in was fine. Staff warm and cordial. Room was clean and fresh. A bit dated. My view was of the entrance roof with vents, etc. I did get a fair view of the fireworks at the baseball stadium from my window. Cleaning staff warm and friendly and did a good job. Unfortunately, a professional football team was sharing the same hotel during the early part of 8-day stay. Security was a bit ridiculous. My meetings were in the hotel next door. I"m 77-years old and for me to get to the meetings in the adjacent hotel, I had to cross the skywalk, walk through the Convention Center back across another skywalk and continue through an indoor parking garage and then through the meeting hotel. This was done Thursday through Sunday. Got to be a little much. Our National Convention was bringing big dollars to the economy. Wasn't our needs as important as the football team? After the team left, things got back to normal. I sm sure with a bit more planning on behalf of the hotel staff, all of us could have experienced the same courtesies.
