How to Get There
Restaurant closed at 9:50 vs advertised 10:00pm. Airconditioner output showed 46 degrees right at out put vent but room temp showed 75. The desk offered smaller beds or a list of stores that sells fans. Sheeze! And this at a premium price. Won't do Embassy Suites again.
I stayed here about 5 years and it appeared aging. Nothing has been done to resuscitate it. My GPS kept bringing me to an empty field. The hotel almost stands alone in a desert of abandoned parking. I really did not want to walk in the evening.
I was in some kind of upgraded room, facing the atrium. You had to walk by some office suite of a hotel management group. Weird settings of furniture in the hallways. The lighting in the room is very poor. Walls are thin. I could almost take dictation of the man in the next room talking on the phone. Wallpaper falling of the walls, poorly repaired. In room coffee had no creamer or sugar.
Room service. . . I give it an "F" First evening I had a caesar salad. I was a plate of lightly dressed lettuce with some croutons and a few pieces of cheese. No salt or pepper on the tray, or extra dressing or cheese or a glass of water.
Next night room service didn't answer so I think it was the front desk that did. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye. They were not familiar with the process, didn't ask how I wanted the steak cooked. I think their scales are off. It was about 1/3 inch thick. Totally lacking seasoning. No flavor at all. The "grilled" veggies were soggy, potatoes lukewarm. The fact that it arrived from the time I hung up until delivery was less than 15 minutes convinces me everything was microwaved.
Both times the hotel was selected by my host employer. If they invite me again, and provide the same hotel, I will decline the engagement.
I’ve stayed here a couple times before and will very likely stay again, if my work sends me back to Indiana. Each of my stays have been the evening before an early morning departure from IND. Their dedicated shuttle is a real winner and permits me to return my rental car the evening prior and have one less (major) task to perform in the morning.
The rooms are great and I have not been disturbed by flight noise, even though they offer a kit to assist in the event you are disturbed by approaching / departing planes.
The bar / lounge and restaurant are adequate, but I’m not a fan of the western orientation during the summer months. The sun can be strong. I stay here for the very nice rooms and convenience to the airport. You will enjoy the Crowne Plaza, as well. They are a good chain.
Very nice hotel near the airport. Certainly appears they have updated it. Our beds were not comfortable, but I think it is a preference really. We had double beds and as a couple, did not find them comfortable at all. Perhaps a king or queen bed would be better.
I chose to stay at this hotel since I had to be at the airport at 4:15 for an international flight. We stayed in a king room suite with a garden tub. Everything went smoothly, staff was very friendly, and despite being next to the airport it was very quiet. The room was nice and the upgraded bathroom was gorgeous. Strongly recommend for a good night of sleep prior to an early flight. Be aware the shuttle is on a schedule though and only leaves on the hour so plan accordingly.
