Beautiful hotel but a few issues
Reviewed 5 months ago

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, connected to the casino, Cavanaugh's restaurant and across the street for the riverwalk. But there were some cleanliness issues in the room when we checked in: dirt on the bathroom floor, didn't look like it had been vacummed, crumbs on the dresser and stains or dirt on the duvet cover. We did not call anyone that night since we had already unpacked our stuff and didn't want to move rooms. Also, when we tried to get assistance later that evening from the front desk, their phones did not work. No matter what option we choose on the phone (front desk, bellstand, housekeeping, etc.) it either just rang and rang or cutoff. We tried using our cells to call the main number and still no assistance or answer. I think our biggest complaint, though, was when we brought up the issues to the front desk agent at check-out the next morning. We wanted ,management to be aware of the issues so they could fix things for the next guest. She was more concerned with pointing out that our room was complimentary (although to be quite honest we paid a decent amount of money for the certificate at a silent auction event, so it wasn't complimentary to us), almost implying we should not complain about issues. Which is not a way to handle complaints.

Highly recommended.

Five Star Hotel at Three Star prices!

I stayed at Le Merigot last night while attending the Indiana GOP State Convention. Let me say, that I have stayed in many hotels over the years in many cities and this was far and away one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The shower has a rain shower head, a regular head, and two side shower heads. The bathroom is as big as a bedroom. The linens are phenomenal and I slept like a log. I could see the Ohio River from my room. In addition, The Tap House is connected, along with the Casino. Very fun. When I next visit Evansville, I will be sure to return to Le Merigot!

Smoke, smoke and more smoke
Reviewed 7 months ago

If you like the odor of tobacco smoke then this is the hotel for you. Even in our non smoking room the smoke permeated our clothes and suitcases. Everything needed to be dry cleaned or aired out including our suitcases upon our return. Although breakfast is supposed to be included all that was available was a continental breakfast in a converted hotel room. Had the hotel been fair, they would have provided a credit toward breakfast at the adjacent Tropicana. The room was adequate but a poor value. Pretty awful given the smoke filled environment. I would never return, EVER.

Quick trip to the Tropicana

This is a new place fo me to visit. This hotel is brand new and it shows. All was very clean quiet and nice. Room had Al the amenities and a multi head shower that was 8 x 8 and water jets every where. The Continental breakfast was a little lite but I suspect that will change once the hotel is finished. Bed was big soft and warm.
I hope to be back soon.
