How to Get There
We have stayed for 2 nights before heading off to Munnar. We liked the quiet location of the hotel and that it has a nice pool area. It is well connected to get to Cochin Fort with either taxi/tuktuk during the night or by ferry during the day. Breakfast buffet had a good choice of international and specially Indian food, with also freshly prepared dishes you can order separately as part of the buffet. Service overall has been very attentive, fast and always with a smile.
We would like to specially mention the helpfulness and great service attitude of the hotel staff. Krishnaraj welcomed us at the evening of the checkin in an extremely warm and authentic way. It was also him who saw from the passport details, that my birthday was on the next day, so he gave me a plum cake as surprise present on the day we left. :-)
Also Reena from reception made sure to help us out, as we had a double booking for a driver pickup and she sorted everything out for us. Thanks again for that!
Overall it was a very recommendable experience and very good value for money. We were impressed with the service which is so much better than we are used to it in Europe.
The only negative point is that the centralized aircon system is quite old and would require modernization to be up to a 5 star standard.
Our fourth visit to India but our first to Kerola. We were recommended to the Trident by a friend who 'winters' there each year. Our two week stay was a delight. It is a truly exceptional place and we cannot praise it too highly. We were pampered from the very moment of arrival (what a wonderful reception they give you - you'll see!) to the moment of our reluctant departure. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here who are ever attentive without being at all intrusive - interestingluy enough after a few days the staff knew us both by name - which was very pleasant and this, obviously, is NOT something that can happen in larger hotels. Thus the SIZE of theTrident also works well for it. We felt very much a part of the Trident 'family' and hope to return soon. The food is extraordinarily good and the menu ever changing. The chefs too are charming and attentive! The bedrooms are comfortable and extremely well maintained. The very pleasant people at Reception are a mine of useful information concerning ideas for excursions and we were never disappointed by their suggestions. So it is also an excellent base for to-ing and fro-in each day to explore this beautiful, breathtaking part of India.
So. Well done, Trident! Thank you for making our vists one we will always cherish!

The Trident at Cochin is a good place to relax, though the rooms are a little small yet they are comfortable and with all amenities. The service was great but the buffet could have been a little better.
Its a little far from the main city area but closer to the older parts like Mattancherry and Fort Kochi.
All in all, a comfortable place to stay at.
We had visited cochin to celebrate my grandparents 60th anniversary. We found Trident hotel to be auspicious for the occasion.
We were welcomed by the staff with the aarti, the bouquet of roses, the welcome drink and the cake. The staff was kind and efficient.
The room was cosy and comfortable. The view from the room was great. The décor was elegant.
Hotel location, ambience, Rooms, amenities and most importantly hotel staff is so good. I could not book my cab in the morning and Mr Krishan Raj coordinated with local vendor and got it booked within 5-7 min. Much appreciated.
